Intro thread minimum character suggestion

Hi,
to avoid spam, like alot of recent intro's by revolver, and a few just plain spam posts, I propose that on certain questions, like the "tell us a little bit about your self" and "why do you want to be a part of T-I" we impose a minimum character limit, like 50 or so. And for the ratio proof, if the word "speedtest" isn't somewhere in it then it tells you to go to speedtest.net or something. So we don't have to tell people what a speedtest is daily.



Of course, sometimes reading through the spam makes me laugh, especially when I saw full's new deer in headlights picture. XD. But it's not needed, and I think this might cut down on it... a little bit.

Those are some good ideas. I'd love to see the minimum-character limit put into effect on the open-ended questions you pointed out.

I just went to the Intro format as if I was a newbie and it didn't tell me to include a direct link from www.speedtest.net . No wonder we have to tell Intro people about it a hundred times a day (and I really don't think that's an exaggeration either).

I think making clear what a speed test we want is a good idea. In fact, we could go so far as to break apart the speed test and proofs question into two separate questions.

Also, I think some minimum character limit would be a helpful approach to avoid having to tell newbies to expand more, but I don't think it would be particularly effective in fixing the spam issue since it isn't hard to bang on the keyboard for 50 characters or make a slightly longer explanation.
