Default New users can browse intro forum?!?

While reading through the threads here ive come to the impression that new users can browse the introduction forum before they've been repped in. This allows for someone only by reading a couple of threads to have all the 'correct' answers to get in easily. Especially 'What do u think about trading' (even if the user gets it wrong, a TI member almost always explains what is the policy here in a reply).

Wouldnt it be better if new users couldnt read the other threads in the intro section before they get in. Or if this cant be done easily, then all repped-in/banned and closed threads be moved to another subforum that cant be seen by new users but can be seen by reeped in ones for future reference.

I'm sure this has been discussed earlier, but it definately needs to be implemented incase it hasnt been already, however it is quite easy to see who hasnt read the rules, in my opinion, if someone posts an intro and its clear they havent read the rules, i wont ever be repping them in, and depending on the degree of their slackness, i wont even offer them assistance on what they did wrong, i'll just direct them to the rules.

But you cant always just say "Read the rules", because people want to know why they have been denied entry. If you skim through the threads in the intro section youll see that almost every thread has the 'correct' answers at least somewhere in the replies, especially the ones that were denied.

Well i only say 'read the rules' if its clear they havent read them, after that, then i'll offer assistance to where they went wrong, after they show some effort themselves.

In my opinion it's still fine to browse the posts. Though they are let in (whatever and however they got the answers), they still must provide good records on their trackers, before getting any invites.

    Good idea.

I would also like to see people not being allowed to change their post once they have said that they agree with trading.

you can`t do that deejay, not all the users know the elementary english and do mistakes. The EDIT button should be there always. plus if you forgot to put the speed test, but you already pressed DONE you`ll have to make another post after your intro and that`s SPAM amigo. And as Zelda said: they still must provide good records on their trackers, before getting any invites. Any user can look for the pass in all the stickies without reading the rules at all.

Mate I didn't mean to disable the edit button I mean once they have said that they agree with trading an a member sees it they should be banned instead of someone just saying oh trading isn't allowed here please change your post.

& I think this is an English speaking forum only so if people cannot speak good enough English to make a decent intro post then they shouldn't really be allowed in anyway.

    Just my opinion.

When I joined at the beginning of this month, you indeed could see all the intro threads. I did my best to make sure not to make the same mistakes I saw others making. I don't think this is a bad thing so long are you aren't copying posts verbatim. I think its a good thing, if you aren't smart enough to read the rules and scope out other people's intros perhaps you don't belong here. As long as you aren't ripping off proofs, I think its all good.
