Default A Week to Mid level forum access

I've gone through a handful of pages, and didn't see a suggestion like this, but I could be wrong.

Basically, I see a handful of spamming done to reach the Mid-Level invites giveaway forum. I think 20 posts is the right number (active enough in the community) for access. I feel that having solely a post limit, however, encourages this new user spam. Do you think it would be a good idea to put a week as a member before getting access to to forum similar to the Top level invites - so that a user cannot spam their way in?

It's been a suggestion before, with various amounts of time, I still agree - though I think 2 weeks would be more appropriate as high level takes 4.

I fully agree, because at least I've experinced/seen that most dupe accounts(wich from the beginning are traders, cheaters, spammers or something alike) often gets the banhammer in the early stage - either in the intro or in the first week or weeks. This will surely weed out a couple of bad applicants to giveaways.

I voted 2 weeks because I think there needs to be some kind of progression. When you first join, you have access to low level. After 2 weeks (and 20 posts), you have access to mid level. After ~ another 2 weeks (and the necessary rep and posts), you have access to trusted and recruitment.

Mid level is getting better and better. I continually see revtt, tl, bitme, bmtv, waffles, etc in the mid level which are very very good trackers. I even see SCC there sometimes. People should have to earn their way to those kind of invites and wait a little while (After all, 2 weeks isn't too long at all). Just my opinion though.

I know im new here, but there are a few things that doesnt look right.

People getting banned, wht they do is creat another account.

How about they have to wait a month before asking . Giving could be done sooner.

The longer we make them stay here the better.

I can see how 2 weeks would be a good amount of time since it is enough latent period time that people who are banned are far less likely to wait for in order to get access to the mid level forums.

There are a few things that sway me towards a 1 week time limit. In terms of post frequency scale, the requirement to access the form should act as a sort of guidance. For a normally active member - I can see about 20 posts per week that aren't spam (through contributions to the community and giveaway participation). In that similar vein, the 2 week separation between 20 and 100 does not scale properly. 2 weeks for 20 posts, then another 2 weeks for 80 more posts. Granted you could get more than 20 posts in the 2 weeks. I also wonder if 2 weeks is too far away in most people's minds to find it to be useful to participate in the site to get to the mid-level invites section.

I can be swayed otherwise, but at this point, I feel as though 2 weeks could be too long and may drive away potential good members.

*is posting here just to get his post count up ;)*

but seriously, lol, i have to agree. as i joined recently and already had alot of low level trackers, and was interested in joining a mid level tracker, i posted a fair bit in the first two days to gain access, i however tried to keep my posts constructive and add to the conversation.

Sadly because it is only a post count, alot of people just spam across the forums to reach the 20 posts required, so in my opinion it would be worthwhile adding a time delay as well, this will make it less important to spam. I think 1 week is the minimum, however 2 weeks is fine considering any1 who is honest and here for the right reasons, will not mind waiting a little longer.

As a new member, I think 2 weeks is a good of time to wait. I dont think it will really scare many people away. The sheer number of banned people is more scary to me. I'd go one step farther and force some reputation as well, or one iGiver or some indication they intend on helping the community.
