Default Yet some more Introduction suggestions

I'm new here and thank you all very much for having me. Perhaps I might be a bit forward in making some suggestions at this young stage of my development here but here goes.

First... I want to know what sort of person tries to join a community like this without reading the rules. Seriously. If a person doesn't care enough to read the rules before posting an Intro - my question is this, do we really want them?

I'm not talking about someone who needs help with editing his tracker proofs or clarification on how to post a speed test. I'm talking about the nitwits who post an Intro that says trading is ok.

I have a real issue with this. An applicant posts that and then folks here jump on the thread and say something to the effect of "we don't allow trading, please edit your introduction." So of course the introductee edits his post and all of a sudden now he thinks trading is horrible, bad, evil. DUH! In the space of five minutes s/he's had a complete turnabout of opinion? Of course not - all they want is to get repped so they get in!

After all my rambling, my suggestion is this: Anyone who says in their Introduction post that trading is acceptable is automatically tossed out. They will not be allowed to revise their answer to that question. End of story. It's patently obviously that the person has NOT read the rules - and if they have so little interest in us that they can't be bothered to do that, then I can't understand why we'd want them or how they would add to our community.

My second suggestion concerns this question: What Private Trackers Are You A Part Of? What Private Trackers Would You Want To Be A Part Of Someday? I recommend breaking it into two separate questions. That way it's easier for use to tell which trackers they actually belong to without having to look at their proofs.

    Thanks for tolerating my rambling.

I agree on both points. However, I will make one addendum -

When I joined, I didn't even know what the trading question was refering to, and just gave a noncommital answer like "uh i think its fine" - I believe people should only be refused if it's quite clear they know exactly what it means. Ignorance isn't a reason to disqualify someone from a community that helps people learn after all.

Need help? PM me and I'll find you the answer.

the people that don't read the rules or change their minds about trading dont really get repped in anyways..the second question I think is fine, all you need to do is put a period in between the sentences. i spend a lot of time in intro and I can tell pretty easy what they are a part of and what they want to be in

But how do we distinguish between ignorance and the trader who just hasn't read the rules and thinks trading is fine?

i agree to both points as well, i have suggested something in regards to this previously. i would also like to add that maybe for the trading question, add a link to what trading is (like a wiki on it). dont say its good or bad, but inform the user of what it actually means in the reference were asking. This way even new people can understand the questions.

well I agree with the first suggestion but I am not that much agree for the second one..

First..The suggestion of anybody who is in favor of trading getting automatically eliminated is really good..I also agree that nobody's view can be changed in few mins..even though after reading the rules, if somebody is sticking to his mindset..then we really dont need him on T-I..also if direct elimination is not possible then I am in favor of other suggestions mentioned in the SUGGESTIONS section like quoting the application or the best one is IRC interview

Secondly..if somebody is a part of many different trackers..then obviously he/she will not post all the ratio proofs..we mostly post our best ratio proofs..and also if we are posting ratio proofs that only means that we are a part of that tracker..so need to separate those two questions..
