    Default Torrent-Invites Introduction Template

Just a few things I wanted to bring up with regards to the Introduction template.

    1. Could the question regarding trading be changed to something like:

Do you think trading is "good" or "bad" and can you give an explanation to your answer?

I have put this forward as I have noticed a lot of people in the introductions page write answers which can neither be interpreted as bad or good and so it requires a member to post another question to clarify the users views on trading.

    2. Also with the amount of users that are on the site surely the invitation template can be translated to a variety of languages. This would basically provide an easier method for people who's first language is not English to access the site. If this is not possible could there at least be a link a translated version via google translate for various countries.

I dont see the point having the introduction in different languages as you will have problems when you enter the site if you don't read/write english as that is the language this site is written in ???

Yeah, as much as we support people from non english-speaking nations joining, they must be able to at least communicate well enough with us to be understood - however, I see the point on the question being reworded. I believe a couple of the questions in the template could use some rewording.

I was told once by another member though that they thought the questions were intentionally tricky to weed out morons. So who knows.

Need help? PM me and I'll find you the answer.

What are your views on trading invites?:*
Trading: The act of selfishly "swapping" invites to different sites, often for personal gain.
That's exactly what it says in the template. Looking at this it doesn't look to be confusing and realistically the answer to the question is below it, If anything that should be removed. I mean if they answer it confusing then I dont know....

So that being said, I think its fine the way it is. Really all they have to do is read the rules before they post an intro. All of the answers are in front of there eyes. If the answers are confusing then so are they on the issue of trading.

Unfortunately like mentioned above that wont help them much, once there into the site. I have come across many people who cant type or read english, but they wouldent manage on a tracker either. So I dont think making different languages is whats best for TI. How many languages do we make, there a lot of them.

I do think the question about trading should be clarified as suggested. But I don't support adding more languages. If they can't communicate in English while making their intro how are they going to be able to use the rest of the website? If someone needs to use a different language for their intro then perhaps they might be better off at a site they can understand, and perhaps that idea can be nicely suggested to them.

the question was changed already..it is very clear now

I think this site should remain english only. If people can't figure out the intro in english, how are they going to figure out the rest of the forum. They are just going to get banned eventually then for not reading the rules of sub-forum.

I think the trading question is no more tricky there is a note saying it is for self benefit or so , but it would be only better if it got more clear : a yes or no question leaving no space for answers like : (am okay with it but am not doing it )

Different Languages are not needed , earlier today a new swiss member was helped out from other member in deutsch http://www.torrent-invites.com/intro...issindeed.html
so no need to make the intro on several languages , if somebody doesn't understand english he can have help in his own language .

yes but most ppl say something like invites should be given for all or something along those lines which really doesnt clarify whether there are for or against trading invites and isnt the purpose of the question to determine whether the that person thinks trading invites is "good" or "bad". I think that question definitely needs to be changed to "do you feel trading invites is good or bad?" because it would save a whole lot of time for the people repping them in. They wouldnt have to say, "please clarify whether you think trading invites is good or bad", etc. it would save time and hassle. I personally would never trade invites but my view is i dont mind it. well what does that mean? Am i coming here to trade invites or not? gotaa post, wait for the person to respond, edit the intro and clarify, etc, etc.

not true, tons of trackers have support for many different languages. People who cant read english well post ratio proofs with the tracker in their primary language or a language they can understand well. They could tell write in that language then have some built-in language translator using google's translator translate what they wrote into english.

thats great unfortuneately t-i doesnt have enough/ diverse enough translators repping ppl in to cover all of the different languages that people speak. We would need people who can speak several differnent languages. Having more translators would be nice but they are hard to come by. Having one or two translators doesnt equal having enough to cover the entire intro section.
