Thread: A Dunce Sig idea!

Hey guys many of you know....alotta people get banned(even infractions) for things like spamming, asking for rep or something stupid.

EDIT: I am now suggesting making the users that got a temporary ban, wear the "SIG OF SHAME". For desired period of time, decided by the mods.

This could greatly decrease the amount of stupidness they will commit in the future and also show new coming members the consciquences of not listening to the rules...

It will be light a lighter slap in the face than the ban hammer, but still sting enough to keep them in check!



This could prevent alotta hassle. :laugh:

In simple terms: Dunce cap for being "stupid"(not big things like ratio faking) but (little things like spamming etc.)

Hmm... The whole point of the temp ban is that people start thinking about what they are doing and preventing them from getting what most of them want which is:
Getting invites and getting them very quick.

Just remember that all these little offences are the big annoyances for users like you and me who are taking this forum seriously.

I would say ban 'em and when coming back in again giving them the dunce cap in addition.

As for spamming, this is something that is stimulated by the way people are getting access to for example mid level. Would access to mid level and other levels be given on iGiver status, rep status and seniority instead of number of posts, I am sure the spamming would stop instantly.

I like your idea about making then wearing it after the ban....for that same amount of time....:D clever...

But as for the spam...i think the general discussion i becoming a spam section....my personal opinion.

I totally agree FvsJ... But not only for the general discussion. Just check any of the sections, what's your favorite this, what's your favorite that and more of those BS threads. It's no real discussions, it's just people vomitting one liners. I hate it.

In my opinion it all has to do with the 20 posts people need to do in order to get to mid level. I would say... people would need to be a member for at least two weeks before being able to create a thread or post in any of the non marketplace threads (and maybe some other exceptions). Most of them will be banned before they make the two weeks anyway.

Maybe it also would be good to create a newbie section, to allow them to do their "vomitting" there, so that newbies at least can not screw up real information.

My two cents... T-I is just suffering from its own success and needs to rethink strategy in order to keep this site useful.

Ah... look at me getting carried away. Still love the dunce cap idea.
