Thread: Two recommendations for intro section

What does everyone think about these 3 Recommendations,,Fadethreeblack have for the Intro Forum?

1. All users ("midgets") must write their T-I Username, noticeably, on their proofs (not in the userbar, but on a part of the proof).

Reason: Just to prevent midgets from stealing proofs. I also recommended that the midgets dont write this in the user bar, because then another midget could just go and erase that and write their own.

2. There be a finite definition of "Trading".

Reason: Pretty simple, the vast majority of midgets have no clue what Trading is. They think it is torrent trading sometimes. Some think it is restricted to cash (selling).

Recommended Definitions:

2a. The act of exchanging (an) invite(s)/account(s) of a torrent tracker in exchange for (an) invite(s)/account(s) of (a) torrent tracker(s). This situation may also include the exchange of money.

and/or

2b. The act of giving (an) invite(s)/account(s) of a torrent tracker with the intent and knowledge of receiving (an) invite(s)/account(s) of a torrent tracker from the receiver in return.

Added suggestions:

3a. If a Midget's T-I Username is the same as his/he Tracker Username, he/she must have his/her T-I Username changed appropriately before being Repped in

3b. Those who improperly follow this rule and Rep a Midget into T-I with the information know that said Midget needs to have his/her name change will be subject to discipline at the discretion of the moderators/administrators.

3c. A Question be added to the Introduction Template inquiring the Midget as to whether his/her T-I Username is the same as his/her Tracker Username.

Reason: People are repped in and I hate to see them be repped in when it is clear in their intro thread that they need to have their name changed. This should basically be a prerequisite to getting Repped in. You MUST have a name changed. With this rule, those who rep them in are just being idiots by allowing them in. These people are dangerous to T-I, and in order to form a more perfect community, we should allow these people to get invites and then be banned. The added question in 3C would make sure that we know if they need to have their names changed.

Recommendations:
3b. A short ban or disabling their ability to rep midgets or ability to rep at all.
3c. Is your T-I username visually similar or is the exact same as your username on trackers you are a part of? If so, it is imperative that you have your username changed ASAP by PMing an Administrator (ethicks or Sraosha).

I feel your suggestion is Spot On.
Its so true that we need a much betterdefinition of what trading is. When I firt joined not to long ago I also had a hard time at the intro phase to understand what exactly you wanted. For sure you folks knew because you live here but a new person has not been in a evrioment like this so most have no idea. So yes I hope this goes in it will hell everyone greatly. If I could send you a rep I would but I am one short to get my 33%

Very nice recommendation fade, I was also a little confused on the whole trading thing when I joined.

These are 2 very good suggestions. It would clear a lot of things up for the new people trying to join that get confused on whether or not they are supposed to for trading. At the same time it would cut down on the proof stealing that goes on around here.

That's actually a brilliant idea. Not just midgets, EVERYONE should do it. It should be regular practice or a RULE in TI - scribble your user name across the proof in bold letters - this'll definitely limit in-house stealing of proofs.

I like the additions that both Eschaton and Fade have added onto the other suggestions. If everyone has to put there name on there proof that will definitely make it extremely difficult for anyone to steal proofs. Being a victim of someone trying to steal my proofs,I really hate people that think that it's a good idea to do. I also like the idea of adding the question to the template. This way if the new user had any confusions about using the same name or variations of the same name they shouldn't anymore. Rep added to both of you also.

Some really good suggestions made here, T-I definitely needs this due to the increasing number of scammers/cheaters making their way into the community and putting members here at risk.
