This should already be in place in the rules. I have spent like 8 hrs in the intro section and 90% of my times had to do with explaining what trading is.
So come on guys put this in the rules ASAP it will make everyone lives better
It will certainly not cause any harm.
    Thanks

I want to add something to fade's suggestions , that is some people who joins T-I says that they never been a part of any private tracker before many times we reped them on the basis of their speed test or torrent client stats . well this thing always hit my mind that there are so many good private trackers which have open signups y they didnt join them ever ? if a person a comes & say in his intro that he wanna b a part of TL or scc or sct some day , if he knows about scc or sct which are rare trackers than how could he not aware of some common trackers that have open sigups ? so i want to suggest that those people who will say something about rare trackers in their intro & if they mention that they have never been a part of any private i suggest mods/good regular members to ask some additional quetions to them regarding private torrenting ..

That's a pretty good idea. Because even if they found out about thase trackers for a search, surely some of the ones with open sign-up's would have come up. So why wouldn't they have tried any of those? It's hard to buy the fact that they just want to start out at the top.

I agree with some of these ideas, mostly the ones originally presented and I am sure the rest of the staff will agree. I will pass this on and perhaps it can be implemented.

In regards to other suggestions, this is not and never was intended to be an elite place to join where only the experienced is welcome. If newbies want to be here, then they are welcome. There is no reason they can't come in here and ask for an IP Torrents invite to get started. Or even a RevTT. That is up to the individual giver, not the community at large. The second tracker I ever joined was BitMeTV and no one can say that I have not been a valued member at every tracker I belong to.

Ethicks and Dave have already stated numerous times that we are not going to develop some arduous questionaire about torrenting in order for people to be here. If they don't have trackers, they don't. No one is obligated to rep a person - if you don't like someone's intro, don't rep them. But that is an indivual choice, not a site wide law, and Dave doesn't want it to be.

I think the bottom line here is that newbie does not equal scammer.

    Just my two cents. :)

ok good post then lets not be so hard on them we well I have only been helping a couple days but we are hard on them. I agree ease up some.
Does it really matter if they have a 2nd diget showing on thier proof?

You get the idea but if you are going to have a template all made out and your looking for certain answers then it makes a whole lot of sense to really define certain terms in the Rules. That way the new folks know what your speaking about. The way you have it now is like dective city down there. Is he a trader, what do you mean by that, do you know what trading is. All this time is freed up when you difine exactly what this site needs and allows and does not allow. My thinking and its just my opinion everyone would be better off by making it very simple and I think it should be like that.
The real cons the good ones are going to get in regardless of what you do or who is trying to catch them. The not so smart ones will end up with a ban so enough which leaves a whole bunch of good ones that do not have to go through such a detailed intro to get in.

There is another torrent community site just like this one. The rules there may even be stricter than here but guess what a newbie just comes in and signs up and they are in. The last timeI looked they weer doing very well with this policy. You may wish to at least think about it or have a dialouge with the other site. I would name the site but not sure if I am allowed to but
I think you know who they are.
BTW I love it here and each day I love it more. The hard thing is once I log on its hard to leave!
    Peace

i don't wanna be the buzz kill here but most of the time it is (without trying to descriminate against) people that don't speak english very well that don't get the point in the anti-trading policy. and besides, most of the time they're just too lazy so if they don't get it they should gtfo imho, no definition is gonna help.

other than that i like the ideas and if the faq would be updated soon we could actually work with it getting rid of the stickies :<

Hello from the new guy. It's both true that "newbie" does not equal scammer and that all English isn't equal.

I'll be glad to help at the door once I figure out the lexicon and the reasons for the rules.

I like the ideas that you level the playing field with the application and are security conscious. It isn't exclusionary - it just isn't instant entry.
