I know I have already started a discussion thread on this subject. But I feel there should also be a poll on the subject since I am unable to add a poll when I edit the initial post of the discussion thread, I thought I should start another here. This is the original thread.

I feel this is a simple thing that should protect the accounts of those who participate here, including invitors and invitees. This I believe is now more important than ever since it has been confirmed by Balauru that tracker staff commonly spy here. This should be no surprise to any as it is absolutely no surprise to myself. Please read this important post by Balauru.

This poll is to see how many feel there should be a zero tolerance enforcement of this policy which would ultimately be a permanent ban.

P.S. I do realize there are some here with permission to recruit for there trackers and they should be exempt from this rule. This is for the members who do not have that permission.

Yes I agree with the ban or infraction, if people cant read rules and follow them, then whats the sense of the rules in the first place. I have seen some people with same usernames still get repped in. I mean sometimes you dont catch everything and thats ok hence were all not perfect, but I think it should be looked at more seriously especially in the intro forums!

In my opinion a perm ban is a little harsh. Mistakes happen

My opinion for someone using the same username

name change imediatly + 2-4 weeks ban

If the inviter reports his name as soon as possible the fatser we act and the safer we are

I usually look at all the people in invite to see their usernames. I think every inviter should do that also

However this is my opinion i am sure others say otherwise:)

    cheers

I agree that they should be permanently banned, it poses a risk to TI, and that person's entire invite tree for whatever tracker they are using it on. Of course not including the special exemptions.

On a side note, does this also include the ones that have names pretty similar to their nick here? (ex. Nadav here, Nadav7263 on tracker)

I feel it should if I use the name Fugazi539 I would be a fool to think my account is safe as well as the unfortunate person who invited me.

perm ban mehh but i"d say if it was namechange and the usertitle "used T-I nick on tracker(s)" as a warning to everyone who wants to invite the person, it would be sufficient. that'd be my approach

Its impossible to deal with this in the intro section due to proofs having their usernames blacked-out and for account security the usernames need to stay blacked-out.

I agree with Fugazi you gotta be tough and I made the same mistake!, but I realized it before getting repped and fixed - I was sweating. And I reported myself afterwards - for good measure. I am not a hardcore user so I mis-understood the relivence and exactly what was being asked. Sometimes instructions are written by knowlegable people who forget what it was like to be dopey. This is why Balauru is being temperate (I assume). But it is serious and people rush in and are impatient to start so I suggest there should be a 'checklist' like when you are entering a contry... that you have to read and check the right box before your 'Rep' gets you in.

Do You Plan to Trade? Yes - No - What is Trade?
Do You Use Your Name Here At T-I Anywhere Else? Yes - No - Whats My Name?
Do You Put The Seat Down? Yes - No - I'm Staying Single.

    Etc Etc...

I have to agree with the permanent ban. Not only is he putting his own account in jeopardy, but the invitee's also.

I agree with Balauru. Plus, why not send them a PM with instructions on how to change their T-I username? I've done that with about 15 users already. Another thing to consider is the fact putting them on the chopping block also exposes everyone in their iGiver list. Instead of advertising our greatest weakness... why not take care of it privately?

It wouldn't hurt placing a warning on the new user signup form as well
