Good point Fugazi. What I'm suggesting is moving the warning 1 page into the registration (directly above where they type in their desired name). I don't know about you, but my eyes glaze over when I see a huge list of Terms & Conditions. I just auto check the "I Accept" button without reading.

Here's the location that should be more effective:

With that said, I believe users should be banned if they drag their feet or give you attitude about changing their T-I username. Especially if there's a warning on the registration page itself. Actually, I'd be willing to agree to an immediate ban after we update the registration page.

I do agree with you there. It would be better if this were posted there as well.

Very few people actually go through the forum rules - So Vegas I think you've made a really good point there - that would be an effective warning, especially if highlighted in RED.

Also people ought to get at least a warning before being banned for this. If they're stupid enough not to heed the warning and change their user names, ban their asses.

Theer is one right now in interdoctions first he gave a proof and on the proof was the same username as here. I posted him and told him if accepted to ask for a name change.
But there is something fishy with this guy he says hes a member of PTN,TL and BitGamer but he only shows a proof of Bit Gamer with a 10 gig ul and a 0 dl with no ratio showing that I could see. His username is oneallen.
    Peace

i had my named changed (before i took any invites but...) when i just started i missed the message (which i see Vegas started a thread about) i at first asked schuwe and he referred me to ethicks who took care of it without a second thought. although it was my own fault for not reading the rules close enough i dont know what i would have done if i had gotten banned for that. i would still be stuck with only FF :P everyone makes mistakes and people (in general) just need to learn a little patenice and to have a little more faith in others. i think 99% or even 100% of the people with the same name on this site as on trackers dont even know there breaking the rules. with a little more notice (like in Vegas's thread) i think the amount of people that makes this mistake will go way down. Perma ban for something that i will agree is serious is to harsh for what is really a fairly innocent mistake.

I agree with the whole idea but I believe there should be an infraction given to recently joined members and a ban for older ones that should know better by now. Just banning them all without a second chance is not a solution. The warning about this should be on top of the registration page indeed, flashing huge bold red letters or something. If that is done and still newbies reg with the same name then yeah ban their ass, but not if it stays as it is atm.
