Thread: New Notices for Intro & GA sections

You know how in the intro section you have to keep asking the noobs to re-post? I was thinking just as we have current notices like -

Heya Eschaton! Sorry for the downtime these past few days, hopefully the worst is behind us. In anycase we are still checking the server for faults.

in the intro section we could have something like -

Please go through the Stickies and Rules before posting. Also USE the introduction template (given below) to introduce yourself IF you WISH to be welcomed into this community. IF you disregard this NOTICE your intro post WILL not be replied to.

Also, in the GIVEAWAY section -

Please follow this format while posting YOUR giveaway -
For single site G/A post accordingly:
Name of site, then the number of invites.
Like - FTN x3



For multiple site G/A follow the single site G/A but add a comma between sites.
Like - FTN x3, Bit-HDTV x1.

For account G/A, post the word acc after the site mentioned.
Like - FTN Acc

IF YOU DON'T YOU WILL BE BANNED/GIVEN AN INFRACTION AND YOUR THREAD WILL BE CLOSED

I know that the stickies will be right below, but people are either too lazy or they just don't bother to read through/go through them. An IN YOUR FACE notice will surely grab their attention.

Other notices could also be setup in other sections where required.

P.S. - I know the colours are an eye sore, but you would wanna find out what the hell is glaring at you.

Great idea, this would help cut down on the amount of intros that do not follow the rules. Though any good forum member should know to check the stickies before doing anything. +1

This is basically a good idea and it's certainly worth a try, but I'm afraid that most of those people who are unable to read stickies wouldn't pay much attention to this notices as well. Those are simply stubborn, lazy and/or simply stupid people (maybe saying stupid sounds a bit harsh, but look at the way some of those people act).

But anyway, as I said I believe it's certainly worth a try.

Like you said, it is worth a try. And I think if something is at the beginning of the page, glimmering at them AND MEMBERS STOP REPLYING TO INTRO POSTS unless the rules are followed, things'll go along well.

Bumping this now - it's been a while, any progress on this?

This is already done, you might not see it but when you are at "Just Starting" there different notices.
