Midget intro forum - Read access only to their own thread and sticky

Ok I was reading a few related ideas, but I thought this was unique enough to have its own thread.

Why not grant midgets only read access to the sticky posts and their own posts in the Introduction forum?

Is it possible?

This will actually fix 2 problems at once.
1) They will not have the opportunity to steal other people's proof. As the forum grows, it is harder and harder to police the new invites.
2) They will not be able to spam other posts.

The other option is to only keep 1 week of intro posts. Move everything else to another subforum archive if you want to keep it for future reference.

This might really help with forum security and maintenance on your end. It will cut down on the number of fakers and ratio stealers.

in addition i have another thought that is
if it is possible y not put some force read rule to view sticky ..
like a a person cannot make his intro thread until or unless he/she replied or hit the thanks button of all sticky threads ..

oh man, that's a really good idea... i've seen that done before so it should be possible

I like this idea. It also means that they will find stickies and things a lot easier.
Edit: But on the other hand, people need to take the initiative to read the stickies. If they aren't smart enough to do that then they shouldn't be here tbh. We shouldn't have to force them to read the stickies.

I think I already suggested this, at least the part about implementing a script that allows users to post only in their thread. I wish it would be implemented because the introduction thread gives me a headache every time I look at it.

I like your idea about something that forces users to at least click on the rules thread, too. Mods, any comments on this?

-remove/archive old intro posts
-force users to read sticky on join or before posting

Hotpink, I enjoyed your idea and linked to it too. D But I thought this suggestion was unique enough to post on its own.. Either way, I hope they take some of these into consideration to improve recruitment.

On scripting them reading the rules you could probably script it so to post they must have at least one 'Thanks' and they have to thank the Rules thread.
