Thread: Demanding the moderators name in Ratio-Proofs

The solution here is profile links. If someone doesn't seem right or I don't know them very well I ask for profile links. That way I know its them (at least I hope).

It is easy to cheat yes. But even if what you are suggesting was implemented it's still easy to cheat. With minimal knowledge of Photoshop or any other similar applications anyone could alter their numbers. It's not hard at all. Going to forge an example and will post it later (need to install Photoshop first :p) to see what I mean.

So either we just need to trust people for a change, which imo would be nice even though the majority of mankind does not deserve it, or find another solution.

The only thing that comes to my head, that would still be hard and timeconsuming in some cases but uncheatable, is for people to PM profile links as proofs instead of just posting a screenshot. Still I don't know if that is possible cause I'm not sure on whether you need to be a member on that paricular site already to see the link.

So anyone can cheat on screenshots even with all the random words in address bar you could think of. So either we just trust people or find another way.

PS. There is a tit in those screenshots hope none gets offended. If you are underage I suggest getting permission from your mom before clicking :p

Gpoh69 perfectly illustrated the point I was making before: if someone is really determined, any kind of ratio proof is not a problem at all to fake.

To see a profile page on a tracker, you need to be a member.
It's not exactly a problem, because on this forum there is a lot of people with accounts on almost all trackers.

A "real" ratio proof would be as follows:

1. I want an invite for XYTorrents, I am a member of ABTorrents.
2. I ask for someone with an account on ABTorrents to check my profile page by sending him the link via PM here on Torrent Invites.
   This person must be well repped and iGiven because there's a security risk involved.
3. After checking my profile page, that person sends me a PM on ABTorrents.
4. I come back here, I post that PM, the person checking my proof confirms it's what was sent.
5. When I ask for an XYTorrents invite, I link to that discussion for proof.

No cheating is possible there, unless the two users agree to cheat.

I believe we all agree that it would be a real mess to enforce.
I still prefer trust :laugh:

My point as well. It will be messy and time consuming. But I wouldn't mind if it has to be done.
