You would be surprised. Some people look back at even your earliest posts to decide if you would be a good member. They dont care as much for speedtests, ratio proofs, post count or iTrader but prefer to see how you act and if you make quality posts.

On topic: I would agree and go further.
Off topic: I would even restrict new members from initiating PM's in the first week. It is annoying to get random "invite me to [good tracker]" PM's from people who have joined today and think I am going to give them invites to good trackers. I dont want the n00bs banned, and I dont want to appear rude by ignoring them or just saying no, but I dont want to have to keep explaining to them the way things work.
