Alternative forum skin

Would it be possible in future to have forum skin other than the default one (currently the only one)? In TIv3 there was an alternative skin that did not make my eyes pop.
I am also wondering if anyone else find current skin poorly designed and unusable.

Yeah, some customization would be nice, but I don't find it poorly designed or unusable by any means. I did enjoy the previous version more because it was more streamlined.

When it comes to the presentation of information, there are basic rules about the use of colors, typography, etc. It is commonly accepted that lighter backgrounds make information to be consumed more easily than darker ones (at least for the eyes of most people). I don't really understand the idea behind color combinations currently used. If you can't live without dark background then take a look what hues are used in popular applications like TweetDeck. But better learn from Google how to present information.

What I don't like about this one is the blue links on top of the gray background. It hurts my eyes a lot more than the blue on black theme. I still like the new theme although the old one is preferrable for that reason.

I am sure that eventually there will be additional themes this upgrade just happen.

Just wanted to add that an additional theme / skin / style with black characters on a white (or brighter) background would be better for my eyes too, bright characters on dark background are hard on my eyes too :(

I think that version 4 is cool looing, always was a sucker for black/dark design and thinks it is a nice skin.

They added back old themes some time ago - you can switch the theme at the bottom of the screen. The one named 'Torrent Invites v3 White' has light background.

Using dark template is not living underground.

I love the dark style here, my background is dark. Everything I use and is customizable I try to make it black. There is a reason of course about this, and the reason is that especially during night it hurts my eyes when I open some bright and white webpage or picture. So for me the dark skin is more comfortable.

*You can try this yourself. In the middle of the night if you are using FireFox press Ctrl+T ( open new tab ) and you should feel little pain in eyes from the quick switching from dark to bright.
