Thread: Minimum 50 Posts to See Giveaway Section

I have noticed that a lot of people who sign up here can just go on over to the Giveaways forum for whatever invites they want, without even being active in the forum in any other way. By requiring 50 posts to be able to view the "Giveaway" section, we will weed out those who really want to be a good and active member from those who just want to get a few invites and scram. Also, doing this will decrease the number of previously banned members that return and just make a new account, because then they will have to make 50 posts before giving and getting invites again. What do you think?

I think 30 posts should be good.

i just chose 50 because it seemed a little hard, but not too easy.. if that makes any sense

One thing I will agree is that there should be some type of limit (whatever it may be) to see the giveaway section.

yep there definetly should be :)

what about spam? people could spam to get to 50. we could do rep to get into the g.a section. what do you guys think about that?

it is a good idea but i have gotten random negative reps for simply responding to a post, so it wouldn't really be fair to those who've had this happen. also, if people spam to et there, then others will give them negative rep. so requiring a minimum, it will probably make all this work out in the end

To normal GA section, I think that's not necessary, 50 posts it's good.

But to Trusted GAs I think that's better to consider rep + iTrades, instead of 100 posts, as discussed on another thread!

50 posts is a lot, and people will spam if they think they'll get invites. And it is a giveaway after all, we already have a trusted giveaway that restricts users. I think if we do set a post limit it should be like 20 or so, also new users should not be limited from contributing/taking part in giving giveaways..
