Thread: Users limit?

Hey, i would like to make a suggestion..
I have seen that here are 8,447 registered users.
Here's what i want:
Close signup of the forum when the user limit reaches 9,000 users.
Then, i would like the signup to be by the invite system.
So, only the staff have invites, and, if someone really want to join this site, to go on iRC channel and to ask for it. He must show us that he deserves it and he will get invited.
Why i want this?
I think this would help the forum, because here will be more active users and peoples who read the rules.
I will put a poll, and, if the results are pozitive, i will talk with Dave and the others guys from staff to approve this.

thats a nice idea more secured in giving invites plus i have a another suggestion the site after closing sould havae fake log in page that would be nice

I like the idea but for some reason i thought one of the mods said they didnt want T-I to become a closed community..but i maybe wrong either way i like the ideas

lol i find this ironic since i bet the majority of people here on TI (including the ones posting and voting) wouldn't even be here if the site were private. just like everyone hates piratebay/demonoid/torrentspy now even tho most people wouldnt even be torrenting if it weren't for those sites introducing them to it first.

man, torrenters and their tendencies to make everything private. reminds me of a twisted version of a famous tropical thunder quote: let's make it so that u need an invite, to get an invite, to get the invites!

i think we should definetley go private, but sometimes we can allow interviews on the irc or open registrations once in a while. just so that it's not that easy to just get another account here if you get banned.

No I don't think we should have a user limit - I mean that's the reason most people are here, aren't they? 'Cos other private trackers have user limits.

You know it'd be funny if we have a user limit and many people want to get in but can't, and then someone else starts a torrent invite community to get into Torrent-Invites!

Not going to happen boys, for one this site was made with the intent on bringing new users into the torrent community, i.e. introducing new people to private trackers, if all us forums went private where do new users start?

Secondly i do not believe that you should need an invite to get into an invite forum

Whats next an invite forum for an invite forum?
