Thread: Adding polls to reviews

I would suggest to add polls to reviews, where users can rate the reviewed tracker. That would be a nice additionally indicator beside user comments, if the reviewed tracker could be worth joining. If it's possible I would recommend to enable only 33% users for voting, so only the well versed users can participate, which would lead to a more meanigful result of the poll.



A general poll for quality of the site would be pretty helpful, but maybe several polls regarding to content, speed and/or community would also be possible.

Well, my idea was a bit different, I would use polls just as a way to rate trackers in review section. So just the possibility to answer with 1-5 or maybe 1-10 indicating what rating you would give to that certain tracker.

It could be done by the individual who made the review. I don't think there's anything in the rules against it. Problem would be adding it to every existing review as a poll. If it was an individual rating system it would be a good idea otherwise it may take quite a while I believe. Still a pretty good idea in my opinion.

I think this could work if only 33% members and above could see the results of the poll. Personally I'm somewhat skeptical about rating trackers. Anyway, if a review is well written it should give you a good idea whether it's worth joining it irrespective of the reviewers own opinions.

I like this idea.

It would be great if in the end of each review there were several parameters to rate. You know, the usual stuff, like speed, content, community. But instead of just having the opinion of the creator of the review, we would be able to see everyone's opinion, voting from 0 to 5 (or 10) on each of those parameters.

Example:

73 votes

• Speed 8.2/10
• Content 7.6/10
• Pre-times 8.1/10
• Community 5.0/10

We could even add other things, like a place for people to vote on how hard it is a seed.

Btw, if I was the one to decide, only 55%+ should be able to vote (or VIP tier 3+).

There will only be one problem, if there's new reviews then how would we transfer that rating over to the new thread. What happen on the new thread someone vote again? I still like this idea.

Actually I think, this don't has to be a problem...

Ratings from an older review could be out of date, because content is better now or community isn't active anymore. So maybe it would be even better, if you have the possibility to rate the tracker in a new review a second time.

Only problem with this is VIP Tier 3 can be purchased. I agree with the 55% though as I'd rather have input from those who have been on this site long enough to hit that level. Not saying it would happen but allowing the lower levels (particularly 10%) could be harmful to the overall review. I mean I remember when I was at that level and a few sites irritated me enough to bad mouth them lol.

Of course at that time I was new to this and looking back on it I can see that my misgivings were misplaced.
