I have been thinking about this for a while and it seems that we need a central thread that contains all the things that some users find useful when deciding who to give an invite to.
A central team of users to update it and check it seems like a very good idea as well. I for one, TranceX, and anyone who has a serious interest in this. See the official traders thread and imagine a few more additions.
What I propose is a small part of the forum with a team of users who have some very limited mod powers so they can all edit the same giant list. Even some method where the updated list can be posted by multiple members will be better.
In this list would be these types of user: those who trade, those who formerly trade and those who no longer trade; those who are liars, ratio proof cheaters or foolish with accounts; those who do not iTrade when they get an invite; those who are collectors; those who are greedy bastards and any other suggestions are welcome.
As I was the sole judge and arbiter in the last thread, and never liked it, I propose that this responsibility be shared. Any member who feels that a decision to include or exclude something will be able to "appeal" to all members qualified to edit the thread for a ruling which will be final.
At all times this process will be evidence based and will require links. Any editing of posts, especially relating to trading, will be viewed in a bad light and it appears that you are trying to hide something. If the proof is potentially compromising to a members account (like PM's, ratio proofs, screenshots, emails etc) then it should be sent to and confirmed by a mod.
For traders I propose these rules.
- anyone who posts a thread, makes anything that looks like an offer, PM's someone with any sort of trade offer, or does anything that looks like a trade is classified as a trader with NO exceptions.
-traders become former trader on request three months after their last trade. They have to ask for it to reduce workload as it is easier to do this each time than to monitor it for all users.
- Traders are removed from the public list six months after their last trade again on request. Anyone with very strong anti-trader feelings can PM for the full unedited list with everyone who has ever traded which will be kept by multiple users. (probably uploaded on RS with a password?)
- traders cannot be anti-traders for one year after their last trade. Any current anti-trader who has traded must remove it or be warned/banned and have it noted forever in the list.
One thing I always felt a little guilty about was scouring the intro threads and adding anyone who stated that they were 'here to trade' to the list. I think this needs discussion.
Discussion needed for all other classes to be included in the new list and if any other infringements should be removed from the list and after what time period. For example, what punishment does posting fake ratio proofs get you? Should it ever be removed?
One note: I proposed this list to put all the things in one giant list for easy reference but others might prefer to split everything into separate lists.
