    Default International section

    Hi !

I think it's a good thing to create different sections for different country, like Deutsch Section - French Section - Spanish Section because the forum is international, the members too and i think it's important for the newbie in english (like me o/). With the international section's we could help our patriots.

What do you think about that ?

(Sorry for my poor level in english.)

I understand that there are people from all over the world who come here, but one problem with this suggestion is that it would not be possible for staff to make sure everybody is following the rules if all languages were allowed. It is important that the rules are followed for this kind of site to work, the rules protect the inviters when they hand out their invites.

Also to add to this we have a table of several members that have volunteered to help those with not so good English to help translate and guide new members from certain countries.

I understand why you suggested this, it would be nice but it would take so much more work and effort by so many more people to make it work properly that it isn't worth it.

Truthfully I would like to see this happen at some point, however as pointed out the need to monitor these sections would be of top priority, and sadly we don't have the ability to monitor all the different sections that would be created in here.

If there were enough trustworthy individuals in the near future that could dedicate some time each day as those who do in the international help section, then I'd say go for it, however I don't see a time (well any time soon) in which we could create a section as such while having trustworthy individuals around to monitor them in case some individuals break the rules in these sections.

yeah the need to understand the language of the forum so that it can be moderated far outweighs the need of having a forum for all the different languages that are spoken here so I would have to say no to this suggestion sorry just do not see it happening

You could add some moderators only for those sections. And create a section only if there is 1-2 persons able to moderate in that language. Make a sticky and people could post their willingness to do that, of course, with restrictions.

I believe it is best to leave the forum with a universal language, it makes it better/easier to get to know people which is essential considering the trust issue with providing invites. It also creates a more uniform feel and everyone is equal, whereas different languages tend to create a bit of a divide (not necessarily but people tend to stick to those they have something in common with and language is a very strong link)

Everyone here is helpful and patient when someone's english is weak. We have a great diverse network of individuals here, who get along incredibly well, while understanding that everyone has a different language and not judging anyone.

If for any reason you do require any assistance in a different language, go to the following thread and contact any member willing to provide the support for your particular language:

Default Communication only makes sense if there is a common denominator

English is only my third language, but if I wanted to speak my mother tongue, there are plenty of message boards in everybody's native language available. One of the benefits of the Internet is precisely the fact that one can get in touch with people from different cultures and religions with different attitudes and points of view. English is the lingua franca of the 21st century, as it was Latin 2000 years ago, French 300 years ago and maybe Chinese 200 years from now. The interchange of knowledge and mutual help and support can only function if it is not cluttered and dispersed over a dozen subsections.

Learning English is essential for business, sports, culture, etc., anyway, so why not take advantage of the opportunity to practice? People with difficulties can get themselves a copy of Systran Premium Pro and Babylon Pro, and when downloading a couple language courses for study, the hurdles will become lower and lower and finally become irrelevant.
