Thread: Bump button

Hey T-I members, I had an idea: Why not create a "Bump Button" for threads? The general guidelines would be:

- It'll only be active for the creator of the topic;
- It'll be activated after 48 hrs of innactivity on the thread, before this it won't work;
- It won't count on the total posts of the user;
- Any other form of bumping the threads will be considered spam.



Please, state your considerations!

I'm not sure if this is even possible for one, but if implemented it would put more strain on the T-I staff to check the area 51 sections for people bumping incorrectly. The last thing the area 51 mods need is more work ;)

It would make the foruns clear and filled just with useful information! \o/ no more SPAMSSSSS!

Check out the request section, and a request for something like FTN. 1 useful post followed by 6 pages of bump.....

and Doc, it would need to limit to 1 bump /24 hours, as the current system does. I haven't seen a Vbulletin site with this option, but man, it would be cool if someone could figure it out.

I sometimes like to unclude useful information in my bumps and I have seen bumps, of requests, with more than 200 words, is it also considered spam?

I suggested to not count posts in the request section a few weeks ago, but it got denied.

On the other hand I do like the suggestion, because now the Area51 mods also check (at least sometimes) for not bumping within the 24 hour rule.
