Thread: HD Movies category under Tracker Reviews

[Movies & TV] subcategory is just too wide, how about splitting out all the HD movies trackers to their own subcat?

This forum is already extremely complicated for newbies and adding another subforum would just be another step in the wrong direction.
I don't think there are enough HD Movie trackers, I don't even know one, because all the HD tracker have Movies & TV and therefore fit perfectly in this category.
Do you think we should also have an extra category for TV only trackers and SD movie trackers as well as the SD/HD movie trackers?

I don't really think that would be a good decision, but it's just my humble opinion.

it's quite chaotic with soo many movies & TV trackers in a single category basically.
sure most will have some tv, but well most music trackers are also book trackers then...
eg:
HDC, CHD, A-HD, F-HD... those I would split
KG, CG, PTP,... those I wouldn't split

well I wouldn't mind tbh; they're subcategories (Prefix actually) only so they don't clutter the forum homepage

I have to agree with @Magister, if T-I start splitting the categories on the reviews, sudenly we're going to have a "nintedo games", "xbox games" "heavy metal tracker"... it would become to much complicated to browse...

I can't speak for KG but both CG and PTP also offer a lot of HD content, well CG not as much in my opinion. As for having a seperate catergory for HD content only I would side with Magister and say that it's not really needed. Most reviews (if not all) will state if it's strictly HD content, SD content, or Blend of both.

I think Kev's idea is rooted in how overwhelming it can be to find so many trackers reviewed - but I have to say, if more sub categories are added, we will loose our newbies minds trying to figure it out

But I think this here is a great idea and could really make it so much easier to browse the reviews.

Also, sorry to hijck this thread, but could we add a description of the tracker review tags in the post that lists them ? "Movies and TV" are pretty obvious, but for example, what does "Old" encompass ? (Yeah, felt like using that word - go figure :p )

The [old] tag is for old reviews or not yet updated reviews, they are still looked at and they are still indexed by google hence the reason they are kept. As for broadening the scope and making HD a separate tag, I'm afraid I agree with the majority here. There is just not enough HD only content trackers around to warrant a separate category, there maybe trackers that specialise in a particular format, but most movie trackers generally encompass both SD and HD.

Thanks TankGirl, I read that thread and it's the thread that actually begged the question about what exactly each tag means.
Maybe we could add a description for Old, Misc, General and RIP - they might seem obvious to most of us, but maybe people completely new to it wouldn't find them so obvious.
