    Default Tracker Summary Page

I've just recently joined T-I and have quickly realised the myriad of private trackers out there for the various categories.

As someone new to this world, I find myself asking the following questions , "which trackers do I really need and which best suits my needs"? I'm sure we've all asked the same questions before.

So my suggestion is this: create a tracker summary page listing all the available trackers in the form of a matrix/table format with the following information:

    - name of tracker
    - type of tracker
    - available content
    - ratio and seeding requirements
    - level of difficulty of seeding
    - is a seedbox recommended to keep a healthy ratio
    - are there any special seeding requirements (some trackers have very unique seeding requirements as I've discovered recently)
    - bonus system scheme
    - user reviews (simply link to existing T-I tracker reviews)
    - which invite forum to apply i.e. 10%, 33%,....
    - open for sign-up or invite only (simply link to to open trackers I guess)
    - etc

This is just some of the info I'd like to see - I'm sure there are many suggestions out there on what should be included and excluded. Let's only include the pertinent info...nothing superfluous.

The intent of this matrix is to help everyone (both old and new members) make an informed decision of which tracker to join. The tracker reviews are very informative, but I think we can supplement it with additional information.

Obviously it will take quite a bit of work to set-up and maintainance moving forward, but I think it would be worthwhile in the long run for the benefit of everyone.

Anyway, I'm interested in hearing other people's thoughts on this suggestion.

I do apologise if something like this already exists on T-I!

I see the tracker reviews as providing the detailed information of each tracker and that would include addressing some of the items I've listed above. The real value of the tracker reviews as I see it is allowing people to share their own personal experiences; likes and dislikes and recommendations.

What I am proposing is to have in one central location a table listing all the trackers with important information that would be useful for everyone in deciding whether a tracker is suitable for them or not upfront before proceeding to apply for an invite in this forum. If people then want to find out the experiences of other members with the tracker they're interested in then they can refer to the more detailed tracker reviews.

As an example, a member might be interested in finding TV trackers that have certain content and the other key requirement might be that they want the seeding difficulty level to be low. If we have what I am proposing in place then the member can quickly short list the trackers that meet their requirements and then they might follow this up with further research through the tracker reviews. Someone new to the private tracker world will not know what is available out there and further it can be very time consuming to read through all the relevant tracker reviews.

My suggestion is all about helping people make the right decisions before applying for an invite in as efficient manner as possible.

All these are available in the tracker reviews (or should be).

These might be included in the tracker review or in the replies to the review. A while back, someone tried compiling a list here: GUIDE-Private trackers/do you need a seedbox?. But as you can see it hasn't been updated in a while.

The person giving away invites is allowed to give them away in whichever forum they want. This is up to them, and T-I will not interfere with their choice.

We have a separate forum for open trackers here: Open Trackers

    Conclusion:
Pretty much everything you're looking for is available, but it's just not as centralized as you seem to want it. Personally, I don't think it's necessary to put everything in one "summary page", but it's not a bad idea.

And as a side note... who would maintain this central summary page? The mods already do a crap load for this site. You could probably do it on your own and I am sure a lot members would love it, but it sounds very, very time consuming.

    Hi,

This seems a very good idea for noobs like me, but also does seem like a lot of work.

A suggestion would be that different people could help with this and post a summary (as per ur guidlines) on the tracker from whatever they have learnt from the reviews and possibly from reading user comments (possibly have also some brief comments of what people seem to think of tracker).
All the posts could be posted in one thread (e.g. this 1) and a mod could amalgamate them all and put it in a sticky in the review section as Summery Page, updating it while people add their summaries.
This could be a way for people to get reps (just been reading that part of rules lol)

You make a page with a list of trackers, then some1 can reply saying they will take responsibility in writing the summary for that tracker and you can edit the list with their name nest to tracker so no duplicates and time/effort wasted.

An easier way would be to have a poll for each section (e.g. TvShows, Movies, Ebooks, HDmovies, HD TVShows) every month possibly and have users vote for their favourites and all results for each section can be sticky.
This doesn't exactly achieve what u intended but it's easier and would be a good place to start in picking which tracker review they want to read.

This idea would also be very good to implement for seedbox providers.

+1 on the good idea, however, the only way this can be a long term easy to maintain project, is to code it into the forum's framework. By that I mean, have the forum handle the trackers database, so we'd have a page "Trackers" that would list all of them and when you click on the name, it takes you to the review aleady existing.

I was wondering by the way if there could a form to write tracker reviews, the way we have a form to write our introduction when we arrive. Meaning it's not just a handmade form that we copy to a new post, but litterally a php form on its own that turns into a post, and could feed the table/database Electron suggested.

You're in for headache indeed when you try to figure out what trackers to get involved into, but I suppose on a positive note, it's a good way to submerge ourselves in the forums, get to know other members through their posts and by asking questions. Time consuming, yes, but there are tons of advices and interesting things hidden in there.

How about some sort of wiki page for this? That way all members can add to it and we can build a nice list together...Just a thought.

Default Integrating the Tracking of Opening Periods and Reviews of Trackers

I'm admittedly shooting into the blue here,

But if I understand the original poster's question/suggestion correctly, he might have meant something more similar to Torrent King

That's a nice overview page which, if a couple of the features and statistics he mentioned were added to the table, would make for a far more practical overview of BitTorrent trackers, because the features and review scores would be comparable. That's something that the current reviews with their endless screenshots of basically irrelevant details and five words of text are not, whereas comparability is the prime objective of any review system. The detailed reviews ("more info") could be linked from the overview page by clicking in the respective row.

Second, such an overview page could and probably should integrate the Open Trackers functionality, which currently requires too many clicks and is not always reliable (yellow triangles). All it should take is a click on the [RSS] button, so that the respective user receives a newsfeed when the desired tracker opens its gates for registration.

Now I can only hope not to have misinterpreted the original posters ideas and stand corrected if the above assumptions were incorrect. In that case, please accept my apologies for mentioning the potential for improvement of the aforementioned sections, please.
