    Default Like Button???

Being as there is no real point to giving 'likes' besides showing your approval, I think there should be "agree" or "disagree" / "like" or "dislike" / "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" options.

I don't want anything that would put other users down who have a different opinion or anything, It would just be nice to be able to 'disagree' with a post without writing a new one and/or see how other users felt.

where is dislike button ... .. just kidding mate .. !!!

I like your suggestion through this we can control spam reply .. and secondly we can judge the suggestion, how good is and how bad is by checking the likes/dislikes ..

Totally unnecessary !!!! We have like/dislike, that's quite enough, and thumbs up/thumbs down it's pretty much the same as like/dislike...
And agree/disagree is unnecessary too. You can explain in a post much more why you disagree, better than just clicking on a button. Everyones opinion is welcomed, so it's ok if someone disagrees with someone else in a post. Maybe it's ok to have those options, just to see who is agreeing and who is not, but that's not so necessary.

i see no need for this, further more, i'm against it. we can't be trusted with the dislike or -rep options because we are only humans and sometimes we get heated and what not. plus, each individual has his own mind set up which in terms will affects his like/dislike clicking fingers - what you may like, he could dislike...
anyways, if you disagree with somebody, wouldn't it be logical to post your thoughts and suggestions to better the environment. don't you wanna a happy T-I family?

We used to have a "dislike" button back during the v2 days. Back then we could choose to "thank" a post or "groan" a post. Thanks to a few individuals abusing the feature the staff here decided to remove it indefinitely. That is most likely why we only have a "like" option and not a "dislike" option because the staff knows there will be people abusing it.

Back in the v2 days the "thanks" added rep. I know why they did away with the "thanks" and turned it into a "like." They even tried to limit how many "thanks" you could give per day. It's part of why so many old members with low post counts can have huge rep because it was so easy to get "thanks" back then. I think the "like" should at least count for something towards your rep. Say like, 200 "likes" minimum could equal 50 reps or something, but I digress. A thumbs down or dislike, like the "groan" did in v2 took away from a users rep. The report button is used best for bad posters. Honestly, if I saw a "IMAGINE dis-likes this" under a post, I'd rather he post about it so I could know exactly what he disliked about it.

I don't think that the "like" button should count for any rep personally. Yes I know it makes it harder to gain rep because now we have to rely on people using the reputation button in order to get rep. As it stands right now you only need 20 rep points. That is needed to advance to 55% along with a certian post count and time on site.

After that there is no need for rep points other than e-peen. Yes back then we could thank a post and get a point and so on, however I prefer people saying they like my post because they like it and the only thing I gain is just that, knowing someone liked my post. I can name several people that would thank me back then because they are my friends and they wanted to thank me as well as numerous others for posts because they knew it would be giving rep to that person. It got so bad that those users ended up causing the staff to limit our thanks per day. And truthfully I was glad they did because it was beyond ridiculous at the rate it was going.

If you want to give someone some rep then use the rep button and give them the amount you wish to give. I personally don't use the rep much but when I feel I should I do and believe me I'm not super high on the rep list but I am up there and when I give rep you'll know it

Maybe it's just me though but honestly I feel that you should really impress me with your work on here before I consider repping you. This is why I like having the "like" button because I can appreciate what you have said and done but not give you a rep point unless I truly feel you deserve getting rep from me.

Bottom line is I don't want a dislike button and I don't want the like button to be anything more than what it is, a way for me to say thanks for the post, I agreed or enjoyed your comment.
