Thread: VIP + xx%

Let's leave the exalted promotion topic dead, i will admit that i might have been wrong, what I said was just a feeling I have gotten from the last elections. I still feel that all the exalted really deserve and live up to their title, and that it should never be made easier to become exalted.

Several well constructed posts on page three have made me agree that we should be careful about making a forum that will "take over" the exalted forum. But I still feel that I have some invites that i would be uncomfortable with giving in 75% section. And I am not sure if it is any better to give them in VIP. Therefore, i hope that there will be a forum where normal non-legends (non-exalted) on this forum can feel comfortable about giving invites.

Since there is also discussion about keeping/getting rid of VIP forum, I will just say that I personally believe in the carrot concept, and i think VIP should stay.

I am also aware that there are being made changes to VIP already, and this thread is posted right now just because of that. We have made a lively discussion where many have given their point, and I think there is a good chance that staff will take note of what everyone thinks, and take that into consideration when changing VIP.

I have one last thing to say about having adding a more exclusive forum. When I see high end giveaways on the 55% forum, such as f*n, tt, musicvids, or gft, I see that there are many applications in a short time and that only those who have contributed greatly to this site receive the invites. It might be couner-productive to hide these giveaways from average 55% users such as myself, because being able to see them gives me incentive to keep working here.

i personally don't feel the need of any more forum for VIP+** coz VIP forum itself + access to 55% forum is enough of a perk for VIPs
now moving on the second point- GA for high end invite
well no one gives FTN based on iGivers or even 75 or 100% ,people choose it very wisely based on the overall performance of the user when it comes to giving away elite invites

Even if there is to be such extra forum made for trusted members of forum the requirements for such forum need to be formulated
for eg
1- the members will be upgraded to this forum by only staff member or the exalted members

all in all i don't feel any need for such forum

+1 for IMAGINE's idea make a 99%+ forum and destroy/leave the VIP section alone ,,

this is not a good idea as it takes away from the security of the site in a semi private forum for invites for the paranoid inviter so I think VIP forum should stay

hmm .. well then leave it to be there i guess .. but i am still up for the idea of a 99%+ forum

This will be sort of resolved in the impending VIP refresh.

VIPs will be able to progress similar to **% except it will also be possible to pay a certain amount to get into each level.

More exclusive VIP subforums will be made for certain stages of VIP. As well as certain perks. All perks VIPs have currently would of course be retained.

To get access to higher classes of VIP you will need to have donated to get into a VIP class. There is no way of being promoted into the VIP class without donation.

The amount you donate equates to how high you are placed.

You then may progress up each class of VIP depending on posts and reputation.

Thus this solves the donator non recognition issue as they would become the lowest rank VIPs.

It also solves the issue of non motivation for the VIP class (there are currently no promotions) whereas with the new system you would be promoted to the next VIP class when you hit posts+rep+time limits

Finally it rewards people that contribute more to TI as well as allowing those with little money to still get into all areas of TI with enough effort.

whaaaaaat?!?! no more VIP rewards? is Dave out of ideas for future promotion games?

Imagine, no one is out of ideas. I think Dave has consistently shown over the past four years how many ideas he has for this place, considering the growth we have shown in a short time. While that is partially due to the efforts of everyone who works here, Dave's tireless efforts to improve T-I from an administrative standpoint are critical to our growth and success.

As for a 75% and 99% section that idea has been hashed out time and time again and more than once declined by Dave. All it will really do is clutter the forum. There is no valid reason for it, especially with the newly remastered VIP section.

Look for the new changes to take place soon.
