I hate likes. I could ignore them though if every single time I got one I didn't get a notification as if I got a private message or something useful or relevant and have to go view it to make it go away.

Haha why does this bother so many people? Is it that frustrating to know someone liked your posts? As you've stated, a simple click here and click there will get rid of those notifications so I still don't understand why members are displeased - I don't get you guys.

Anyways, currently there is no way to disable the notifications.

I assume the likes I'm receiving on this thread are of a mocking nature :P

That may be, but another possibility may be the following: I do like your suggestion on the basis that in the future I might receive some likes myself, and then I may or may not find notifications of the nature that you have receiving annoying. So as an preventive measure for the potential annoyance in the future, I choice to like your suggestion in hopes that the increasing number of likes of your suggestion may improve the probability of it being implemented. ;)

I'm actually proud when I receive messages saying that someone liked my post, I feel like I've been useful in some way and that I've managed to help someone who read my post.

I don't get why is it so annoying for some pople.

    Yay Marxism.

Anyways, I think it should stay. It's not that much of a pain, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I just don't get why people complain about it. It's a small number on the top of the screen. If you click it, it separates into likes and PM's. Problem solved...
