    Default Importance of Invites

Invitation offers that say "No Rules" or "Just Ask" show complete lack of respect for the trackers for which they are offering an invite to.
I think the people who give invites this way are devaluing the invite's importance whether it's not hard to find or whatever. As staff is working hard to kick out cheaters, scammers and traders, I must say there should be some criteria.
    What do you think?

There is already a rule that you can't have "Just Ask" in the title. I suppose you are talking about the requirements in the post of from the user giving away the invites? I agree that having "just ask" devalues the tracker somewhat, but I don't know that asking for extra requirements will necessarily reduce the number of cheaters/scamming getting in. They can easily provide valid proofs just as well as anybody else.

some trackers there are just too many invites out there and it is harder to give out the invite than a tracker that has less invites hence the desire of the person to unload the invite per say. That being said what does it matters if you see huge uploads or what not in profile link or ratio proof if the person is untrustworthy I base myself on character if the person I see is always around and I think they are trustworthy I give them the invite without anything so is that devaluing the tracker, I do not think so in my opinion. So it is my opinion that although it may not look good but as long as you are giving invites to people who have a certain level of activity here why should the criteria by so high

@shadowbuild, I understand your point. I agree that it's not devaluing the tracker. But aren't you taking iGiver after giving an invite to the trustworthy fellow whom you know personally, may be? What is the hesitation to ask few things? So, there would be at-least one ratio-proof and speedtest. If I am not wrong, inviter can have better idea by this small recommendations.

i have seen some posts similar to this in the past. at the end of the day it is really up to the inviter, so i don;t think (just ask) shows any disrespect. i truly believe there are members that do care and those that don't. So far i have given out a few invites in a short time and they are all doing great guns, therefore i think 99% of members here at t-i are genuine :)

i think it depends on how many invites are available for the tracker and how popular the tracker is

seeing a speedtest or ratio proof doesnt really mean that much or change things anyway (ratios can be faked and speedtests can aswell) i would much rather have everyone who is interested in the invite post. So i can look through their profile see what posts they have made in the past/how active they are etc etc basically see what type of person they are and pick out the best (from things which cant be faked eg: content of posts lol 1 post helping people is much better than 100 posts saying thanks or i agree etc)

in some cases i would prefer to invite someone who only has one tracker and uses it alot over someone who has 10+ and hardly uses any of them that much

Actually, I want to stop bad guys, thought it might be one way to take down them. So, those who are not in evil world, will not try to show off their bad actions ever if we have put visible restrictions, according to site rule!
I know everything can be done, might be false-positive/fake. It totally depends upon you.

I think its all about giving people a chance, the trackers that i think are easy to seed and are a good first time private tracker i will usually say post here and pm me your email. The reason for this is that everyone has got to start somewhere and the only way to get somewhere in this invite site is by sharing, and you cant give what you havent got. So my point is people who start off with the easier private trackers will eventually give back, so they get recognized to progress to better trackers. Aint that what most people do and what its all about?

I agree with this ^ The trackers that people usually say "just ask" are the ones that are on the lowest chain of trackers. The ones where you learn to ease yourself into the private tracker world. At sites like IPT and Demonoid, I honestly don't think you need to have some super fast internet connection to survive, so why ask for a speedtest? And since it is most likely their first tracker, they won't have any proofs to show you that they are reliable.

I admit I'm guilty of this. I have some giveaways where I don't put any requirements. But that's not because I do not care about the tracker. Why would I build a decent buffer in a tracker and try to get myself promoted to a higher user class if I don't care about it? There are some trackers that give invites to certain user classes every month or sometimes even every week. Even though the tracker rules say I should only invite those that I personally know, to be honest I don't have that many friends that care about private trackers. Most of the people I know in person use public trackers because they simply don't want the hassle of having to maintain a ratio. All they do is download what they want, let the torrent seed for a day or two and that's it. I remember asking a "direct download forum" member for a BitMe invite way way back, and all he asked from me was my email. I took care of the account and I still have it now. Without that guy, I doubt I'll fully understand the subjects I took in college. So for me, it's not how many proofs they can show you or how fast his connection is. If someone needs my help, and I'm capable of helping, I would help. If a DJ asked me for an AudioNews invite, and I do have some to spare, I'll help out. If the tracker that I invited him into really helps him out, I'm sure he'll take care of it. If he had to lie just to get an invite, then the joke is on him. ;-) Removing the Giveaway sections could help resolve the "just ask" problem. And then if a user is interested in or really wants to join a certain tracker, they should make a request on the Request section of T-I.
