Default Ability to delete images from new Image Dump

I'd like the ability to delete the things I upload to the image dump, so they don't hang out there forever. Imagebam does this by creating a 'remove link' when you upload, but I could see this being implemented by tying it to your forum login. Regardless, some mechanism for removing images would be great!

Yes! I'd like this suggestion aswell, what would be nice too is a place over at the "Image Dump" to report images lets say;someone choose to use it and upload some adult images.

I am against it because it will make scamers their work much easier. I think the whole point of local images hosting is to save pics forever.

I also disagree. If tinypic deletes their photos, and it is a problem, then it will be a problem if people delete their photos.

If you do your proofs right, then there is no reason you should delete them, and if you do need to delete them, simply edit out the URL.
It would just give people an excuse to have little to no history of what sites they claim they are a part of, and easier to give fake proofs, then delete when done.

Good counterpoint, but like Bandersnatch said, can't one already do this by editing the post? I do this regularly, just cause I'm paranoid about being able to give those very restrictive trackers enough data to ID me. As a person who spends large chunks of my day analyzing data for my job, you'd be surprised how easy this can be given enough data points.

Mods can see your edited posts history - including links to removed images. If images were to disappear scammers/cheaters/and just [censored] will thrive. Why do you need to remove something? Are you a person I mentioned before? I think it is great that I can browse other people posts history, and their proofs etc.

Right, no what I was saying, is that if you aren't a cheater/etc. then you won't need to delete anything, you would just edit out the URL, as there is no reason to delete the picture. That way, you still have it in your history, so that mods can see the mistake, but no one else. (I believe the mods are trustworthy enough to not use the data)

To sum it up, if you are legit : you keep the image.

I also agree that given the challenges with scammers this could create, this is not the best idea in the world.

Closing my own thread. Thanks guys for all the valuable input.
