    Default TI Invitations

I just e-mailed a friend of mine inviting him to join T-I and I thought there should be an easier way to invite a friend. Why not allow TI invitations? Have something like an invitation code that makes it so the new members intro is auto repped in by the the inviter. This could be a 50% or higher feature. What do you guys think?

We used to have referral links before the T-Iv3 move. Don't know if they are still in effect but I don't see them in the usercp anymore.
I don't believe they came with any extra benefits though (although a referral incentive might be nice)

A "referral" will give you some sort of benefit, what I am suggesting here is something different. An invite is just a quicker way to invite a friend, just like the tracker invites we share here at TI.

auto rep in is a bad idea.
every t-i member has to have an intro and if it's accepted without a proper look, the community would suffer and dupers would have easier access.

i don't have anything against referral links but as the history has shown, not a lot of people have used it. and now that the intro process has been made x times simpler/quicker, it really wouldn't give you any advantages.

Auto-repping new users is not good idea in my opinion, you would be held responsible for your partner's actions here at the forum and they could get you banned also.
The intro form is more favorable & intro mods do a good job repping members in to T-I.

I also believe this to be a bad idea as you are not inviting real friends into TI how do you really know what the person you inviting is about. At least with an intro there is a chance to catch scammers before they enter if they slip up, the way you suggesting this will not happen. It also gives members an easier way to create dupes if that is their intentions sorry but will have to say no to this

We will definately enable a better invitation system that allows you to invite your contact lists.

Howver they will have to go through intro vettin just like anyone else.
I do retain the power to ban you even though i am retired. PM me at your own peril.

What I meant by auto rep was ME as the inviter would be repping the new member. He would still have to post his intro like everyone else. And as far as scammers, I'm not suggesting to allow 10% to send these invites but if you make this a 50% or even 75% feature it would be pretty safe I think. I guess you guys just read the first line and already thought it was a bad idea.

you are right, users who have reached 55% are allowed to rep new peeps in but (big "BUT"), when you haven't spent any time in the intro section, you probably haven't been up-to-speed with the latest rules and customs so the intro that you have to check, might not be up to the usual level of scrutiny. plus, since you know him/her (as you are the one who invited him/her), you probably will take it too easy.

well I am against the whole no intro process and even the process of me being the one to rep in the member does not sit well with me as that is the intro workers and the intro mods jobs and I was an intro mod for a while but the rules change continuously for intros so best let them do their job is my opinion
