Default Manchester United vs. Arsenal (December 13, 2010)

Alright lads! Who's excited for the first of the series of the big games? We've got United, Arsenal, and Chelsea all battling each other in the next few weeks - and this is happening tonight!

Personally, being a United fan, this is going to be more to our advantage (as we're playing in Old Trafford) - plus, we've recently settled our midfield. A few weeks ago I would have admitted that we might not have a chance against Arsenal's midfield, but I'm pretty confident that our centre of Carrick, Anderson, and Fletcher can do the job.

Should be an excellent game - I'm expecting a win from us. 4-5-1 without Berbatov; Rooney up top; Nani and Park on the wings; Carrick, Anderson and Fletcher at the centre - has been our winning formula against Arsenal, I honestly don't see any reason why it should be changed.

    Predictions? Thoughts?

We should be top of the league by the end of tonight.

Now I may be a little bit biased, what with being a United fan as well, but I think we shall win for the exact reasons above, our midfield is firing and in particular Anderson.

Also the fact that Fabregas may not be playing will also be to our advantage, although to beat a team with him playing (and Nasri who has gone half decent) would be unbelievable!

Keep in mind that Arsenal have won their last three away from home. But who have they been up against? Villa, Everton and Wolves. Not the hardest of teams.

As for prediction...I'm going to say 2-1. And a lot of yellow cards. Maybe a red. And Rooney to score the winner.

Oh and even if we aren't top of the league, so long as we get a draw out of it remember we have a game in hand away to Blackpool. Shouldn't be too hard one would think. That and Arsenal always falter.

Yes I will add to this thread as indeed im a Man United fan. I also think that this game is going for us, I feel that we have the upper hand, we have a strong squad, Rooney is slowly regaining his form, Park is always great to have on the field, Nani even though I hate will help create chances and like mentioned earlier we have a strong midfield. I hope that the defense along with the goalie do well and I think we should be well. Playing at home is always a bonus for us and if Fabregas is out, our chances increase, however a draw would also be great news but a win is always more appreciated =].

    Go Manchester United =].

Good to see there are a couple of United fans here. But surely there has to be more? The most beautiful sport in the world, lads! The most watched league in the world?

I wouldn't say it's going to be an easy game. Arsenal's midfield is definitely stronger than ours with both Wilshere and Fabregas in the middle; but history has played its part as well. We've been so strong against Arsenal with Anderson, Carrick, and Fletcher as the mid 3, that I think it will work no matter who the opposition is.

Very excited here - I hope the boss doesn't play Berbatov out of pity. Sure it might be a hit against his ego, but having Rooney solo up front is our best option with a much faster pace alongside Park and Nani on the wings.

Just 5 more hours til Kickoff guys!

Our Ace is sir alex who knows how to play against big names:)

If I recall correct, last season when Man U won 3-0 away, they played one of their best matches and i enjoyed every minute of it. I am hust worried about the defenders. They draw the machtes when they were front 2-0 e.g. against Bolton.

    Man U FTW!!!
