Thread: Strikeforce for My Birthday

The wife asked me today what I wanted for my birthday. I told her, "My answer is the same this year as it has been the last three years you asked me... nothing."

We just got married this year, and during our courtship she always hated that I wasn't a big fan of receiving gifts, so she said... "I was hoping it would be different this year. Oh well, guess I'll just give the Strikeforce tickets to someone else."

"Yeah, that's cool. I'm sure someone else could use it more tha... what? Did you say, 'Strikeforce'?"

"Yeah, I did... but if you don't wanna go..."

"Um, no... you did good. REAL GOOD!"

So there you have it fight fans... Doc will be heading to Strikeforce in St. Louis on his birthday... December 4th. Hendo vs. Babalu live... suh-weeeet!

@docjollywood nice brithday gift :) And I have to say that card for Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu II looks really solid and we can expect very nice event. I'm especially lookinfg forward to see Dan Henderson back in action. I'm curious how he will be dealing in 205 division.

I'm pretty stoked to see Hendo too. I think he SHOULD fight at middleweight... it better suits his frame, but he enjoys fighting at 205 more because he doesn't like cutting weight. And as he's getting older, I'm sure the weight cuts are getting a little tougher anyway. All of that said, I think he can fight 205 in Strikeforce just fine. Strikeforce isn't like the UFC where most of the guys at 205 are walking around at 225-230.

Anyway, I'm positively stoked!

I think Hendo is better off at LHW for the future, maybe the weight cut + age is catching up with him at 185, he looked sluggish after the first round against Shields.

Congrats to the TS, it's a very nice card. Really looking forward too the main event plus Lawler-Lindland and Daley-Smith will be very explosive while it lasts. The only fight I don't like is the A.Silva matchup, they should have gotten him a better fighter. Not a fan of seeing inexperienced fighters like Walker get so much TV time, but I respect the man and understand why Strikeforce is showing it.
