Who here thought that Chael Sonnen was going to win this one and become the new champ. I was shocked to see Silva win it with a triangle choke in the last round. Guy is amazing! Thoughts on the other matches too!

yea.that was so unpredictable.but I'm glad that silva won that fight because of chael's trash talk which was fun actually :D
hughes had also nice choke. glad to see that.
now I'm waiting for the UFC 118 and for randy couture fight.

I can honestly say that this was an EPIC fight. I have never seen silva get pwned like that. But honestly he didn't look like he was getting hurt. I mean, who knows, he could just be playing the field. Get him tired first, then when a submission comes, hes to exhausted to get out! Think smart, play smart!

In the post-fight interview he stated that he had a rib injury so that's why he hadn't been moving during the bout that much.
And you're right about smart game plan on his back, in that horrible position Silva was always trying to apply triangle choke. And moreover it is big problem for all wrestlers and Sonnen particularly. This 2010 year is so crazy about this triangles: Bisping vs. Akiyama, Fedor vs. Werdum, Carwin vs. Lesnar (arm one) and Silva - Sonnen. And I really disappointed that Dana White is still keeping silence about future Silva's opponent. Belfort - Silva delayed 3 (!) times. And may be delayed for the Sonnen rematch again.

I think this one was an instant classic! I can't wait to see the 2 of them in the octagon again. I think Silva will take it a lot more seriously, and Chael won't be as likely to get caught in a submission.

Also really looking forward to the Penn-Edgar fight. I think Edgar deserved the win, but I also predict Penn to have worked non-stop and take his belt back. Thoughts?

I don't think anyones been as close as sonnen at beating Silva. I thought Silva was an "untouchable" but I was proved wrong, chael reaally tested him. I don't really like Sonnen though, talks way too much trash.
