Am I the only one noticing all the empty seats?
I just wanted to make sure i wasn't crazy but am I seeing the right amount of empty seats in this WC? I know it's in South Africa but it's the world cup!

Yeah its crazy! The global recession has a big part to play. I had tickets but could not afford to go in the end. Would have cost to much, two of my friends are over their though..Im dead jealous.
Not alot of people can afford a monthly vacation nowdays
It's unfortunate, this whole event is going to cost S.A. dearly (financially speaking).
I partly blame the vuvuzelas. The novelty of those things wore off really quickly. I mean who wants to sit in a stadium where everyone has one and is blowing the damn thing all game.....
The recession might be partly to blame although I don't think that has made a great impact on numbers at the games. Most who purchased tickets would have been fairly well off regardless and would have planned/ saved and scrimped their way there.
No doubt we'll see more numbers attending once the business end of the cup draws near

the economy is just to rough to be flying all around the world today with the prices airlines are charging at the moment you know that they are asking for outrageous prices to fly into any area where the World Cup is being held so I believe people are just being selective to what games they want to attend right now

Is because of FIFA, they restricted the sale of tickets and many other stupid things. I my opinion, a WC in Africa at this moment is a stupidity. Tha rate of criminality and robbery is very high. Look at uruguayans, when they played against France, they where robbed

Fifa is mainly to blame, setting ticket prices to high for most South African's to afford it and mainly selling the tickets via the Internet when only 10% of South Africans have internet / credit cards.
