Yeah I prefer the chanting and was really looking foward to the unique atmosphere it provides to the game but the Vuvuzelas even drowned out the chanting of the drunk Englishmen. Kind of ruined it for me

Luckily our TV stations here mix the announcer and stadium noise perfectly, so it doesnt ruin that aspect of the game. However, we still can't hear the fans chanting or singing, which is sad. Maybe they can setup mics on certain parts of the stadium, and mix with the overall noise. It's either that or ban / limit the horns.
I do not want to say dirty words to vuvuzela...
but unluckily i just can't help.
If only they blow it when there is a goal scored or something really important happening then it would be fine, but this mindless blowing the entire time is terrible.
I don't mind it at all, its part of the game. Thanks for pointing me out to that APP greatham. Downloading now lol
You can use equaliser settings to filter out the vuvuzela noise.
I stumbled on this at lifehacker

I've tried this in VLC using cmdline parameters from the site below and it does seem to work.
