Well,I believe that on this edition a lot of contries can win.Spain,France,Brazil,Argentina, Portugal,England,Italy and Germany will fight for the first places. Also I believe that Cameroon and serbia have big potential for this tournament.Everything will happen in the stadium and no other place.

Moreover it looks almost impossible to guess the winner and the score of the final. It's not sure even who will pass the group stage.

All I can say it's that the whole competition will be insane and the level of the matches will be over the top.The players and the coaches will have to work very hard to win the ultimate competition and to hold the big trophy up to the skies. The show will be present till the final whistle.

Let the show beggin! This is the prize:

I bid on two teams.Brazil and Argentina but my favorite is ARGENTINA.

Argentina may possibly win this year world cup with the coaching of legend like Maradonna and players like Lionel Messi,Argentina can recreate their previous world cup win magic.
Though they struggled in their qualifying but team looks solid.
All fingers crossed and praying for Argentina.

As you said, having both Maradona as the coach and Messi as player Argentina might have the upper hand at least in the group stage. As far as I think Argentina will surely qualify in the next stage of the competition. If they manage to keep the team together and if the game will be clean and organised(and of course if they don't loose Messi) Argentina will surely be one of the best team that will "fight" for the World cup.
The big stars of Brazil will have to work hard this time to be in the top.

Brazil and England... they've produced and developed soccer to current standards. On one hand we have Brazil ( no comments there ) and on the other hand England ( the best and toughest championship out there - EPL ). France hasn't been a threat for quite some time now, so i'm guessing this year will leave the competition pretty soon. Argentina could be a pleasant surprise and frankly it would be a shame to see it not making it to the finals. Germany and Italy will be group leaders... i just hope it will be a great competition...dominated by fair play and many goals.

I think that Brazil and Spain will play the final and Brazil will win...
Although many teams has great chances to reach that game as Argentina, England or Italy and other teams will reveal their pottential to the worls like Cameroon and i think Serbia will make a good worldCup

Yes to an extent Spain is the strong contender for world cup.I was just now reading the reviews of the qualifying matches of Spain and found Spain defeated strong team like Germany with 1-0.Spain surely is strong team on the paper.

I think this year final will be between Spain and Argentina.

At this time, as Darius said, is very difficult to predict a winner, since the competition ain't started yet and we couldn't see how in shape the teams will be...
Off course there are many candidates such as Brazil, Spain, Argentina, England, Italy, Germany and even Netherlands that is playing an excellent football!
I bet in Brazil to be the winner, i think Argentina will be a disappointment and Netherlands will go far in the competition, but lets see how all rolls :)

It’s a shame that some well known players are injured, despite Drogba for example still expected to be available during the WC, but not for the first game it seems.

The usual suspects will be there as always, with Spain and Brazil as main favorites, no doubts about that, but if we look back at history, it could be safe to say that at least one of Brazil (7 – 5 wins), Germany (7 – 3 wins) or Italy (6 – 4 wins) will reach the final as in the previous 18 only in 1930 and 1978 the final didn’t include one of them.

The European champions will bring their always dominating and attacking tiki-taka football, an extension of Barcelona’s game but only with Spanish players and Brazil, the owners of Joga Bonito (Play Beautifully) will probably not be doing that because Dunga favors a more defensively consistent team, that’s why Ronaldinho and Pato were not even selected to play in front.

England this time around has a top class coach, although the Premiership is what it is now because of the foreign players, but they still have some quality players of their own.
The Netherlands will bring their juice of the mechanic orange, always a pleasure to watch.
Argentina has a certain player that can create quite a messy, despite their coach being rather suspect, even if he once was the best player in the world.
France is also not very well on the coaching department, but they have the players to go far in case they get it going, pretty much like my Portugal, that like it or not once at the final stage of the last World Cups and Euros has done pretty well most of the time and playing good football.
And then there’s the African teams that for the first time will play in their continent and much is expected from them.

Today is the day, let the games begin!
