Thread: Favorite Pro Poker Player and why?

Who's your favorite Professional Poker Player to watch on TV or wherever.

For me, there's a lot but if I were to choose one, it'd be Tom "Durrrr" Dwan. Why? He's what you describe as a loose player. He's extremely unpredictable to most players and most announcers will say over and over again, "But that's Tom and I don't know what he's going to do next." Because everyone knows Tom could do things that make your heart go on a ride.

The other person that I like is Phil Ivey. Like Tom Dwan, Phil will do things that normal people are incapable of doing. He bluffs and bets for reasons that you will not understand until another pro explains it to you. And Phil Ivey will call with random bullcrap cards out of position for no apparent reason besides seeing what you will do and bluff you off a better hand. He doesn't call to get lucky like most people, he calls preflop mainly to bluff you off your hand when you look weak or to test you. The weird thing is that he calls with all sorts of crappy hands and ends up up almost always winning in the session.

These guys are my favorite players because they give your heart a good pounding when you watch them play and they drive action. They are fearless and unpredictable.

If you don't watch poker or don't know what shows to watch, I and almost everyone else recommends the show "High Stakes Poker." It is the most downloaded show in ThePokerBay and remains highest quality show with lots of good players and good commentator.

Patrik Antonius, David Benyamine, Gus Hansen, Sam Farha, Eli Elezra, and Scotty Nguyen

So who's your favorite Professional Poker Players?

i haven't watched poked for a good while but I used to like Devil fish.

For me it's Kid Poker, Daniel Negreanu. He often knows exactly what hand you have by just looking at your face, and that's just scary talented.

I can't believe I forgot the Kid Poker, Daniel Negreanu. He's also one my favorites, but if you watch High Stakes Poker, Poker After Dark, Daniel usually looses. If you talk about poker reads, all of the pro's I listed have amazing reads, it's sick sometimes... 3 street bluffs, the pot sometimes swells to $500,000. And yes, both players have basically nothing or a draw.

This is one of the sickest bluff recently Tom Dwan pulled on Phil Ivey. Three street bluffs by Tom Dwan... Phil Ivey is currently named the #1 poker player by all of the other pro's. And Tom Dwan is one of the current top 5 poker players.

I really like Sammy Farha, just love his playful banter around the table that seems to put people off. Also, he seems to gamble a lot and play most hands, something that i really like about him.

Im ot really watching much poker anymore but at the time i was into it alot i have to say Daniel Negreanu, At some points he is stright up scary.

You guys are fans of Daniel Negranue, you obviously haven't watched much of poker lately. Daniel might have great personality (he's spokesman for pokerstars and announcer for few poker shows), but he runs into bad situations lately and haven't had much of any luck at all... his reads aren't as 'great' no more, but all pro's have great reads guys. Just Daniel spoke his mind and you thought it was impressive. I mean, I used to think he was so awesome, now, Ivy, Tom, Patrik, Zigmund, they all top the list. And yes, Farha is super entertaining.

You can't go past Phil Ivey. Just seems like a really cool guy.
