Well ... It seems like no one has created one yet. I created this thread for the purposes of discussion of NBA-related news and articles, players, games and all other NBA stuff.

I don't know how many members of this forum are NBA geeks like me but I hope there are a lot =)

Let me start this thread off by discussing Gilbert Arenas' situation. He was suspended indefinitely by the NBA commissioner for a gun-related incident. He brought his guns to the locker room. For the complete the details read this article. NBA suspends Arenas indefinitely in wake of gun fiasco - NBA - CBSSports.com Basketball

I think Arenas didn't mean to cause any trouble because if he did, somebody would've got hurt. I heard the rumor (as well as other ridiculous ones) that he pointed a gun at Crittenton because of a gambling problem but this hasn't been proven if it really happened. The NBA has gone too far by suspending him when nothing has been proven yet.

    Any thoughts ?

Hi, nah there are plenty people interested in NBA.. Give it some time. About your article over Arenas pointing a gun at Crittenton because of a gambling problem, sound pretty hard to believe for me. I mean those guys makes so many money in a year. Or he is just a greedy bastard :D

Anyways, i predict that either Cavs or Lakers win the playoff this year.

Cavs hasn't been playing at the same level as they did last year when Lebron won MVP. Their trademark lockdown defense has only been seen in rare glimpses. I think the Magic will give them another ass-kicking if they don't fix this problem. Also, they don't have a mobile center who could guard the pick and roll. Both Shaq and Ilgauskaus are slow. This is what killed them with the Magic last year. Cavs are good this year but IMO not enough to be champions.

As for the Lakers, they have been dominant all year but are now facing a tough schedule after a fairly easy one at the start of the season. Let's not make conclusions that the Lakers are si mply the best right now because of their record. They are doing very good though considering the injuries that they suffered with their front court. Easily, they have the best starting 5 in the league but has some problems to address like their PG defense weakness. Fisher has been and will be torched throughout the whole season by speedy quick guards like Aaron Brooks (who almost killed them last playoffs; imagine a Rockets team playing without two superstars taking the Lakers to game 7). The bench has also been inconsistent so far. I wouldn't be ready to call them the likely champions before the All-Star break as they have had an easy schedule. I will only judge them after.

Anyways, I see the contenders this way:
    West: Lakers, Dallas, San Antonio
    East: Cleveland, Boston, Orlando

My favorite team is Phoenix and I think they should blow the team up.

What do you guys think about Phoenix putting Amare on the trading block?

Personally, I'm all in it with this one. Amare will demand a max extension at the end of the year, which he doesn't deserve because: a) he's injury prone; b)plays horrendous defense; c)is not the same amare as before after all the surgeries. I say we trade him to Golden State for Anthony Randolph, who's more talented than him by far.

No one willing to discuss stuff about NBA? I guess people prefer one-liner answers in spam threads =(

I'm an NBA fan. Go Lakers! I hear Amare's going to Philly for Andre Igoudala and Samuel Dalembert. You think that's a good trade?

Hell yeah! Iguodala is perfect for our system. Athletic and runs like a deer. Nash will keep him in check since he chucks up a lot of shots. Dally's contract is the downer here, but then he comes of the books the next season. We seriously need an upgrade at the SF/SG spot - Grant Hill couldn't hold the fort forever, y'know, and J-Rich is a chucker. I think this is a good trade for us, but I also think Philly should add a bit more: picks and/or young assets.

Do you think Lakers should trade Fisher/Farmar?
