who do you think the next heavyweight champion will be. will kimbo beat lesnar, or will machida have to gain some weight, and challenge the monster.will anderson silva gain weight for another lightweight title. there are some premium fighters holding the titles right now, im interested in everyone's opinion about who the replacements will be.

I like to watch MMA myself, and UFC is the grand place for it. I think Brock Lesnar will have a long down time, so Frank Mir will do a interim title fight with Shane Carwin. And i guess Shogun Rua will take Machidas belt the next time they fight

Kimbo is a joke, man. Even Dana said so himself.

    Predictions:
Heavyweight division - Brock is seriously sick and will obviously be rusty and weakened after a long recovery. UFC will hold a fight for the Interim Heavyweight title. Too bad Brock is sick. I would've loved it if his career was unmarred of injury. Want to see Brock and Fedor go at it. *crosses fingers* Anyways, most likely the Interim title would be between Carwin and Mir, as Gamma said.

Light Heavyweight division - Arguably, Lyoto Machida, without any bias, is the best fighter in this division. I will bet my life on Lyoto at the rematch between him and Rua. Haters don't get it but Lyoto won their previous fight fair and square. 3 rounds went to him if you carefully watch it minus the biased commentary. Many of Rua's hits didn't land, whereas Lyoto was very accurate like always. Anyways, Lyoto will continue to dominate this division until he decides to gain some weight and go up to the next division. By then, Anderson Silva will be poised to take the division as his own.

I agree with just about everything you say here. I think Mir is gonna beat Carwin at UFC 111 in NJ for the interim heavyweight title though. After putting on 30lbs of muscle and beating down Cheick Congo he seems un-stoppable. I actually tried to get tickets to that event but all of the cheap seats (50 and 100$) sold out in the first 5 seconds after going on sale. I cant afford 200$ tickets right now so i guess i'll just have to watch at home.

I also agree about Machida winning against Shogun. In the first fight the first round was the one with contoversial split scoring; after going back and watching that round without the commentary and counting solid landed strikes it has to go to machida. Alot of people including Dana White were hating on Machida but it seems right now that nobody can beat him.

    My two cents.

thanks for all the intrest in this thread, wow i didn't expect as much response.
and i agree with everything about machida being unstoppable, but why dont you walk up to kimbo and call him a joke to his face, lol. he may not be the most technical, but he hits hard enough to be taken seriously.

C'mon man, how do you expect to take someone seriously when he gets his ass kicked by Petrelli in record-breaking time?

Kimbo beat Lesnar? Are you joking? And Anderson is moving to LightHEAVYweight not lightweight, 2 totally different divisions.

Lesnar will keep hold of that title for a while, Silva wont fight Machida but that may not matter as Shogun will give Machida a run for his money, BJ Penn can hold the lightweight belt as long as he wants and keeps himself motivated, GSP has no real challengers but Hardy has a better punchers chance than most.

The winner of Mir vs. Carwin will most likely fight for Brock's belt at some point. This is obvious. What isn’t, is the fact that either Junior Dos Santos, or Cain Velasquez will probably be the heavyweight champ at some time in the future.
As to the light heavyweight division, I think that the winner of the Machida vs. Shogun fight will eventually fight either Jon Jones (I am now a believer), or Randy Couture, who is easily capable of handling the Light heavyweights after pushing big 'ol Lesnar up against the fence to do some dirty boxing. Look for him to decision everybody on his way to a title shot...

I think most reasonably attentive UFC fans could easily foresee either Dos Santos or, especially, Velasquez becoming heavyweight champion in the future, especially considering they are both young fighters. I suppose we have yet to see Dos Santos face a top wrestler to test his defensive wrestling skills and how much jiu jitsu he's learned from the Noguieras, but his star is certainly shining brightly at the moment.

Jon Jones is a very exciting rising star at LHW, but he is still very inexperienced. The way he extended and posted his arms in Vera's guard could easily result in him getting submitted by a more accomplished submission fighter. I am looking forward to seeing him mature and develop his game--he has the potential to be a really special fighter.

I would be surprised if Couture captured the LHW belt again. I think his best use is in superfights (like his fight against Coleman and his upcoming Franklin fight) rather than fights that are relevant to a championship title run. I guess you can never totally rule anything out when it comes to Randy, however.
