Thread: BJ PENN vs DIEGO SANCHEZ at UFC 107

Who do you think will win?

BJ PENN has impressive boxing, enormous experience and most important - crazy ground skills.

DIEGO SANCHEZ is naturally bigger guy, packs some good KO power both in his arms and legs, is also quite experienced, but nowhere near as BJ, and he has also high level jiu jitsu of his own.



I think it all comes down to which one has the biggest heart, because in all the other aspects IMO they're quite equal (and if BJ has some technical superiority, Diego compensates it with his explosive power).

I'm going with BJ in this one.

Yep I think BJ will have it on the ground. I dont think these guys will stand toe to toe for too long... one thing is for sure its gonna be a great fight!

If I were a gambler, I'd bet it all on BJ!

He is better in every way. The only edge I might give to Diego is in cardio. But, BJ has transformed into a different fighter. He's taking MMA seriously again, and that's a very exciting but dangerous thing. Heh.

I am still looking forward to watching this. It's a pretty solid card from top to bottom. The only unfortunate thing is that they're not going to air any pre-lims before the PPV begins. Something to do with an Awards Show on Spike.

Out of every current champion, I see BJ holding onto the lightweight belt the longest.

Imma take BJ on this one. His ground game is ridiculous, and IMO outperforms Diego in every way. The only thing that could take this away from BJ is dependent on which BJ shows up. If his conditioning is good and hes focused and has a good training camp then he will easily win this one. If hes looking past Diego already then he may have a rough night. We'll see what happens though.

I would have to say Diego Sanchez by TKO. I do like BJ alot but I have to favor Sanchez in this one. Sanchez has great cardio and has fast hands definitely.

Diego has good cardio, sure. But BJ has also cleaned up that aspect of his game as well. Look at his last fight with Kenny Florian.

Diego won't be able to take BJ down.

BJ has better Ju-Jitsu and is a far better striker than Diego.

This is really not even close, I'm afraid to say. I am seriously considering putting a ridiculous amount of money on BJ in this fight.
