There's not enough hockey fans on this forum. Seems like Soccer is the thing here. Anyways, hockey is about the drama now - all the bogus trades, players not wanting to waive the no-trading clause, and what not. Wow. I've always been a fan of Detroit but when they fouled up the finals, I laughed. More so at Hossa than Detroit though.
Team I really want to see make a run for the cup would definitely be Tampa Bay. I know they really butchered it for the longest time but it seems like they're building up a solid defense which could give them a decent shot. I don't want Chicago to hit the playoffs though. Again, never did like Hossa.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are my favourite team. Heh. I know. They have the worst record in the league at the moment, but they'll turn it around. Enough to make the playoffs? Probably not. But I don't think they'll finish last either.
My favourite player? Geez. I liked Grant Fuhr a lot while I was growing up. I ended up playing as a goalie for a few years in Rep. I started too late, though. Unless you're supremely gifted you need to begin playing the game at six or so. I started when I was Thirteen. Way too late.
Anyways, I'll try to name a current favourite player. It's actually not a goalie or a leaf! surprise, surprise. Anze Kopitar from the Los Angeles Kings is my current favourite player. I love the way he plays the game. A true talent and he's having a great start! second overall in points. I believe he's only one point behind Alexander Ovechkin.
And lastly, who do I think will win the Stanley Cup?
That's tough to say this early in the season considering the teams that are doing so well (namely Colorado). I think the New York Rangers have a really good shot to make a run for it. I definitely think an Eastern Conference team will win it this year.
Detroit Red Wings have always been my favourite team. One main reason, when I started playing ice-hockey in Australia, I really liked the colour red, and guess who is dominated by the colour red? :P
My second favourite team will have to be Toronto maple leafs, I'm not sure why but I just like them for some reason.
My favourite player is Pavel Datsyuk, mainly because he is such a good forward and his goals are just so great! Another Good player would have to be Martin St.Louise, just because he is such a good player, and his knocks people on their holes and weaves in and out of peoples legs because hes so small compared to the majority of players.
I think that Detroit Red Wings will win the Stanley cup, obviously because they are my favourite team, and I think they are more than capable of achieving it.
I started playing hockey when I was 9, in Australia. I played Ice-hockey for about 5 years at first and then I also started to play inline-hockey, which is actually really fun. So I played both inline and ice-hockey for another two years, but then I quit them both to concentrate on my study. I plan to continue on playing inline hockey only next year. Although, I do prefer ice way more, I'm currently incapable of supporting myself financially to play ice-hockey as it is a very expensive sport in Australia.
I also represented Western Australia 6 time in Ice-hockey and twice in Inline, and also made the Australia squad for inline, but I broke my clavicle bone.
Heh, I love hockey anyway! GO RED WINGS!! :D
