Babe Ruth always somehow makes his name first in that list but I don't believe it. He was one of the greatest no doubt but not the greatest.

The greatest to me (& I may catch some heat for this) is Ken Griffey Jr. Hey may not have 700 homers but this isn't the "greatest home run hitter of all time" thread. He hit for average while hitting all of his homers. I do believe that had he not gotten hurt he would definitely have 700 homers.

    What's your opinion?

*If you even try to say anything about A-Roid I will personally hunt you down, kill you. Revive you & kill you again. Skin you & then put you in a pressure cooker. Then I'll add some fava beans, a nice chianti & dig in :001_smile:

Best hitter of all time - Ty Cobb or Rogers Hornsby - To have an average above .350 for your career is amazing.

It's tough to rule out Barry Bonds, even amidst all the steroid allegations. He was an absolute beast during his tear and the numbers don't lie. There's a reason why he won the NL MVP for 4 straight years... OVER players like Pujols.

So I mean, love him or hate him, you gotta respect him (until proven guilty).

Personally for me, watching Manny/Papi combo was one of the greatest treats and when you talk about Most Clutch hitter, you have to include Ortiz in that discussion. But that's saved for another time...
