    Hello Folks.

The name of the thread presents itself. Are you a practitioner of parkour ? What have you experinced ?

I am practising parkour for for 2 years now. I have learnt a lot of my experiences. It is a great sport. It affects your soul and really makes you confident of yourself no matter how the situation or condition you are in or you are going to face. It also helps you to build your body muscles and makes your body toned and in shape. I don't really want to mention how many time I fell and hurt myself. I was afraid at the start to practise such a sport and asked why should I have to practise such a dangerous sport. And I become more scared when I fall down and hurt myself. That was due to the lack of confidence of myself. So what about you ? Do you actually practise it now or do you think to practise it and why? What are the reasons that could push you to practise such a beautiful sport ?

    What is Parkour?
Parkour is an art of movement in which you train your body and mind to overcome obstacles which can be anything in the surrounding - Rails, Walls, Rocks- whatever is your position. A practitioner of parkour is called Traceur (Male) or Traceuse (Female). Parkour is meant to help one to improve their ability to move in space by interacting with the obstacles to be their natural environment and their new urban architecture.

    What does Parkour require?

Parkour requires Confidence and the ability to deal with your fear. That comes in first place. It is something you own in your mind. No one can train you to overcome it except yourself. That needs a strong will.
Parkour is discipline. It needs elements such as strength, speed, coordination, balance, power, precision and endurance.

    I am new to Parkour?

All new practitioners of parkour block them one thing; it's the FEAR. Most of new practitioners will think negatively of what will happen if you tried to do a move. They will probably think that they could break their bones or their spine or even get paralyzed for life. Your mind brings you the worst things that could rarely happen. That doesn't mean that you jump from 10th Floor and say I overcame my fear. That is called IMPURDENCE.

Also, You need the will to practise daily and overcome your pain in order to achieve your goals :001_smile:

I will write more. I just don't have enough time to write all I want to. I will add youtube videos and provide advices to all who want to start. Just give me some time

    Thank you

Haha. For some reason I thought parkour was the dude doing the jumpy things in those videos. Now I know.

No, I don't think I'll ever do that in my entire life. I'm too lazy I guess. You should post youtubes.

It would be nice if we could get some videos of users here who have tried.
