Default Can Peyton Manning really succeed in Denver?

Has Peyton Manning doomed himself to mediocracy in Denver?
Hailing from the Bay Area I am default a biased 49ers fan so I'll admidt that right out.
But it is widely concieved that Peyton has 3 MAYBE 4 good years left in him. I tend to agree with this.
Can Denver really build a legitimate team around him in this time frame, considering the cap hit Peytons contract will have?
Or is Peyton destined to follow the likes of Joe Montana and many others and slowly slip from greatness till retirement is the only option?

    P. Manning could easily win a Super Bowl. The man still has "it". -- I believe he won't thought because the talent around him will not be enough. You hit the nail on the head IMO. Quarterbacks that make a lot of money do not leave enough cap space to sign the necessary other players. (In Peyton's case, a good O-line to keep his neck from getting hurt again.)

Denver will be good, but win it all? Count me as skeptical.

Their Division is relatively weak so I dont see them having trouble making the playoffs. However like you said that O-line needs work and running a system that peyton is used to leaves little margin for error. The AFC is VERY competitive post season, and although Denver pulled of a miracle last season, We all witnessed they're destruction when they played a legitimate AFC post season contender. Tebow could run, he took ALOT of pressure off that o-line. Peyton won't bring that to the table, not by a long shot. He is a definitive pocket passer, and I'm interested to see if they can protect him. Although I'm obviously biased, I really do think if he wanted to get another ring, he should have joined the 49ers. With that defense all you have to do is score 10-14 pts a game and you will go 13-3 almost certainly. Peyton could do this all day, even with a broken neck, LOL. All I can say is Elway must have gotten his tongue up Peyton's cinnamon ring alot deeper than any of us had thought.

If Peyton teaches Tebow to throw and call the right plays on the field, Denver will get much more than 4 years. I really do not know if Denver will win the title this year, even though they have Peyton. But I am really looking forward to the season, and it is gonna be great! I am a Ravens fan myself, and as you guys know, we got the best QB in the league! :D

they're a definite playoff off team and their altitude gives them an advantage if they get home field. Good defense and special teams. They are a legit team with him.

I think so. Peyton Manning showed us by not playing last season how vital he was to the Colts. No one expected the Colts to do that bad. With the acquisition of a former colts TE, I think he will be alright. Deyarius Thomas will be a Deep Threat with Manning under the center. They also have a good offensive line, a solid running back with McGahee and the Defense is coming on it's own with the emergence of Von miller, but might suffer a little bit since Dawkins retired.

Montana, Elway, and Favre played well into their late 30's and I think Peyton Manning is capable of playing as well as the other QB's that I mentioned.
