    Default Pro Wrestling Going Downhill??

I grew up with what I like to think is the best era of Pro Wrestling of all time...Late 80's - Early 2000's.

Is this just me, or am I not alone?
I remember the "Monday Night Wars", when you just clicked the last button your controller when commercials came on from Raw to Nitro. Although I must admit that I watched Nitro more. :)

I tape traded, and got ECW from Philadelphia via satellite...real satellite, and not that crap Dish or DirectTV.

The Wrestling of today doesnt seem as edgy or as great as it used to be. The women in WWE can not wrestle either. Could be because it has all already been done?

The minor leagues seem much better than the ones on tv. CZW, Chikara, JPW, etc...are all great. But the hardcore, and the days of the great "Heels" has seem to have come and gone.

Just wondering others thoughts, who watch wrestling, on this as well.

The thing is that WWE has no competition whatsoever and Vince McMahon thinks that people are stupid enough to buy every single crap he will sell them. That exactly when they came up with the whole "WWE for kids era", so when they changed they quite edgy product for something more family friendly aka PG show. That being said, plastic characters needs to be created and that's the main problem of mainstream wrestling right now. Although, I think PG direction courtesy of WWE will come to a bad end quite soon as their ratings are going down the toilet recently and some changes needs to be done.

To summarize, I think that wrestling has had its time and no matter what will important guys within main wrestling promotions develop it's no way wrestling will be as popular as it used to be during the very beginning, so The Golden Era or Attitude Era.

The WWE problem is simple John Cena, now the guy works his ass off i give him that, but he just isnt the man like Hogan,Stone Cold, Rock, and some others i can mention. Name a face of the company before cena who got booed like he does, the supercena act doesnt help him either like when he destroyed the Nexus pretty
quickly, the WWE doesnt build up characters either, there are some decent guys there, like Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, but at the end of the day there
all going to be made to look week against Cena. Just like the Rock is going to be a wrestlemania. which is a shame.
