Thread: any MLB fans?

I'm not a big fan of any specific team but I do love the game.



Here is a good joke I got from a Red Sox fan:

A NY Yankees, NY Mets, and Red Sox fan are climbing a mountain, and arguing about who loves his team more. The Mets fan insists he is the most loyal. ''This is for the Mets'', he yells, and jumps off the mountain. Not to be outdone, the Red Sox fan is next to profess his love for his team. He yells "This is for the Red Sox !!!" and pushes the Yankees fan off the mountain.

Who are the baseball fans of this forum rooting for?

Yankee fan here. We just beat Red Sox, I cannot believe that Sox beat Yankees yesterday to end their losing streak.

SF Giants fan, since I grew up here. We're off to a rough start also but usually we pick it up towards the end. Even though the team is better than last year I don't see us winning the title again.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the Phillies or Rangers this year.

I'm a huge MLB fan, started playing Baseball last year (I live in France, where Baseball is practically unknown) and totally fell in love with the sport. So I'm watching every MLB game I can get my hands on since then.

My favorite team: Texas Rangers - Love their agressive base-running style

Close 2nd: Yankees. Love their style, plus they're scoring so many homeruns so far this season, it's amazing. They crushed the Orioles pretty bad yesterday too, 15-3 is impressive!

As a lapsed Dodgers fan, I'm torn about their takeover by MLB. On one hand it'll get the McCourts out of town, but I'm afraid they've so encumbered the team that no one will be able to clear up the assets without years of litigation. It might be best just to contract the franchise and have it start over as an expansion team. I'm also hoping against hope that Mark Cuban will step in and buy the team. He's got the cash, and he wants into baseball desperately.

Another team that I like more and more are the LA Angels. They've been playing really good baseball lately, it's fun to watch, and it's a very YOUNG team. I'm already a fan of Peter Bourjos, it's incredible how fast he runs! And he's got great outfielder senses too.

Disappointed start to the Giants season this year so far but it was the same thing last year. Hopefully they get it together like they did last season. I guess all the ceremonies and parties have taken an affect on their game. But we'll see, but tough competition esp. the way Philly is looking.

The Phillies starting rotation is unstoppable. Philly has the best record in baseball and their best player hasn't even played in one game. When Chase Utley comes back, no one will beat the Phillies. They will easily win over 100 games in the regular season. They will also win 11 games in the post season.
