Thread: FREE Home Media Server

As some of you may know, many of your gaming consoles and handheld devices have a feature built in for live streaming.
This server is available through windows media center, but I prefer using a program called TVersity.



TVersity has a free version and a licensed version. I am currently running the freeware version and it works perfect. Everything I download from these wonderful torrent sites gets cataloged into TVersity and automatically pops up onto my PS3. I am then able to view HD movies on my home theater setup.

there are a variety of playback devices that you can use. These include:

Direct TV HD receivers
Nintendo Wii
Sony Vaio VGP
Sony PS3
Xbox 360
Sony PSP
Apple Iphone
Apple Ipod
Blackberry (OS V4.3+)
Any mpeg1/2 video device
Any WMV9 video device
any other mobile device (WAP 2.0 + streaming)



You can use TVersity to create custom menus, directories and/or tags to make searching easy on your playback device. It is very simple to use and uses very little system resources as I am continuously running it on a P4 2.4GHz @1GB RAM.
