Great thread! I use photoshop quite a bit, and tutorials like this take a lot of time and effort.

    WEEK 6

Hi, again, sorry for being so late(no new ideas for tutorials have come up lately)

This week I'll teach you, the basic buttons of photoshop. You won't have to look 'em up on the internet, just take a look here :)

    Number 1 : How to make a reflection(text,image,vector etc.)

Open a new document(700x400), click the bucket tool(G), and make the background black.

Now make a new layer, and click the text tool(T), and make a selection in the middle of the picture. I'll use the font Highway Gothic Wide and size 33.31 .

Next, make a duplicate of the text layer. Right click on it, hit transform, and drag it from the top till after the bottom. If you want it to be closer to the text, image etc. click zoom a few times, after that hit free transform again and align it as you please.

After that, on the duplicate layer, add to it a layer mask. Next select the gradient tool, make it a linear one, and a black to transparent color.

Drag with the gradient tool from the bottom of the text, till about 3 times its original size.

You will have this result if you follow this tutorial :

Remember, this can be used with text, images, and mostly everything that has to do with PS.

    WEEK 7

Hi everybody, I haven't updated this thread because frankly, I didn't have any new ideas for tutorials, but thanks to louferts :D, some came up

In this week I'll explain how to make the titles from the first post in this thread; a glowing background-less text.

[1] Open a new document in photoshop, make it a 500x300 one.

[2] Now make a new layer, grab the text tool and rag it on the top of the image. Next we'll write "TORRENT-INVITES", with the font BankGothic Md BT size 21 and color white; don't be fooled, the text is there, just drag it around till its in the middle top image.

[3] Now duplicate the background layer, go to the blending options, click color overlay, and select the color to be 272525. We'll use this to be easier with the text manipulation.

[4] Next right click the text layer, click blending options, select outer glow, and make the color to be e2da54, the size 27px and opacity 60%.

[5] Next we'll duplicate the text layer two times, the first time we'll write "USERNAME", and the second time write "THIS SITE ROCKS" ^^; and carefully allign the in the middle.

[6] Now change the outer glow color from the "username" layer to 33e254, and the one from "this site rocks" to 1a5ca0(this layer you'll have to duplicate it one time, to see it better)

[7] For the final, if we want 'em to blend with the background, we have to deselect the two background layers, just click the little eye besides them, and then save the image as a .PNG

    WEEK 8

For this week, I'll show you how to make a text to disappear/appear, and how to make a regular stamp.

[1] First lets open up a image, make it a 500x200 and click the paint bucket tool and make it a blue one.

[2] Take the text tool, make a selection in the midle, and write "TORRENT-INVITES" with what font you like(I used BD Cartoon Shout), and add a drop shadow from the blending options menu.

[3] Now click "Window", and select Animation; after that click the 3 little squares from the bottom right.

[4] Then click the little black arrow from the bottom of the first frame, and make it 0.1 seconds.

[5] After that click the button next to the garbage can in animation, to create a new frame.

[6] Now with the second frame selected, make the text layer not visible.

[7] After that, click the button with some circles in it, and select 16 frames to add and click ok.

[8] Now we have a smooth animation, but we want it to reappear again don't we. For that make a new frame like in nr 5, but this time make the text layer visible; after that repeat nr 7.

[9] Now click file, save for web and devices, and slect looping options for "foreveR". Then save it as a .GIF

This is what you can achieve by following this tutorial :

Making a stamp hasn't been easier. You just open up this stamp template : , and use it in your works. Always save it as a PNG, and try to zoom in as much as you can, to delete the margins that make it out of the stamp.
