Hi everyone!
Do you use Deluge on your seedbox, or even on your PC? Have you ever wished to know what your overall ratio is, instead of just knowing it per-torrent? If so, this tutorial is for you.
This Deluge plugin arose purely of my own necessity--I wanted to be able to have global stat tracking, and Deluge didn't have it, so I wrote the plugin. It turned out that Deluge kept track of these numbers anyway, but never displayed them, so the job was easy!
If you run Deluge as a remote daemon, or if you run it locally (ie. classic mode, daemon integrated with UI), the same steps should work.
Steps:
- Download the Plugin
- Connect to the Daemon {OPTIONAL}
- Install the Plugin
- Enable the Plugin
Instructions:
Downloading the Plugin
The plugin can be downloaded from http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3741989/Tota...-0.1-py2.6.egg. You can save it anywhere, just remember where it is!
Connect to the Daemon {OPTIONAL}
Obviously, you only need do this step if you use Deluge remotely as a daemon. Use the connection manager as usual to connect your local client to your daemon. Here's what my connection manager looks like (with server name removed):
Install and Enable the Plugin
Installing the plugin is simple. First, hit the Preferences button, and go to the Plugins tab on the left. You should end up with something that looks largely like this:
As you can see, I already have the plugin installed and enabled. You won't have it in the list (you may not have some of the other plugins either, it doesn't particularly matter). Once you're here, click "Install Plugin" (if you use Deluge in non-English, click whatever's appropriate for your language). You should get a file browser. Navigate to where you downloaded the plugin .egg, like so:
As you can see, I already had it in my DropBox folder, but you likely will have it in a Downloads folder of some sort. Select the .egg, and click Open to install it. Deluge will install the .egg both locally and onto your remote daemon. Once it's installed, you should see it in your plugins list (refer to above image). Tick its checkbox to enable it, and hit apply. Once you do, you should see an image similar to this one:
Look for the area in red, your ratio should be displayed there. The plugin will ask Deluge for your upload/download stats, so don't be afraid if it doesn't start from zero. I don't know if Deluge's internal stats are per daemon/client session, or over all sessions, but you should have at least something display immediately.
Finished!
Now you're done installing the plugin--enjoy your ratio tracking, and happy torrenting. For anyone who wants the source code to the plugin, it's also available via DropBox, at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3741989/totalstats.tar.bz2.
If you have any problems, don't hesitate to comment here or PM me--I will do my best to help, but I may not always be able to.
