Xalos, after actually trying the software, i must say it's def not the worst thing microsoft has put out. :001_smile:
The copying and pasting from one environment to the other is quite seamless. It's also nice that you can run apps in XP mode from 7 or vista through the start menu.
Problems: Booting makes me sleepy, it's slower than any other virtual OS emulation i've encountered. Lags and hiccups more than other virtual emu's. Overall slower than i'd like.
That said, i'll keep it for the nice cut & paste action.
I understand your concern with sandboxie Xalos.
Keep in mind, however, that Sanboxie's memory footprint is negligible.
The service part, which accounts for everything automatic, is less than 1500k.
The optional control part, is a little more at 3,500K.
The only time the control is even needed is if you want to monitor what's happening within the box or change settings, afterwhich you can close it.
Out of the 59 processes I have running right now, sandboxie has the 4th smallest footprint.
Checking on my other computer with McAfee, adding up the memory used by all of its constantly running services reaches over 100,000k.
So unless you have a computer from the Triassic period, you wouldn't notice the slightest difference.
