How to update Kaspersky AntiVirus / Internet Security (v 9.0) 2010 without Internet connection (offline)
Kaspersky has been one of the industry leader in terms of PC protection software. Around the globe, there are thousands of users, who are using Kaspersky Internet Security or AntiVirus.
An AntiVirus or PC security software can’t be the best unless it receives frequent updates to keep it self healthy and prepare enough to tackle any threat. Kaspersky Labs too releases frequent updates through its auto updating procedure and here comes a question that how can you update if you have a slower internet or no internet connection on a PC which runs Kaspersky Internet Security / AntiVirus 9.0 (2010) ?
How do you do it ?
In answer to this question, Kaspersky Labs have released a small tool, which can be executed from a pen drive or portable USB storage to download and save latest updates in it (USB). Later it can be connected to the PC which runs KAV/KIS 2010 to update it.

How to use this tool ?
Once you download and extract the zip, you may file three files in it (kis9_459_463_736.ini / Updater.bat / Updater.exe).
All you need to do is, just run/execute/double click the Updater.bat file. Once you do that, you may see couple of command prompt windows would open and it would start downloading the updates.
It would also create 3 new objects in the present directory/folder.
The update folder would be storing the downloaded updates and can be used to update your kaspersky installation.
How long will it take to complete the download ?
When you run this update for the first time, it may download 50-80 MB of data. Hence for slower connection, it may take a while to complete the download. But the tool is intelligent enough to reduce the download size from next runs.
As from next time onwards, it would download only the new updates, which can be few KBs in size.
Alternately, for those who find using this tool is bit too complicated, to make the task the matter more simple, here I am uploading the update folder as ZIP file.
All you have to do is to download the ZIP and extract it to obtain the update.

How do you apply the update in your PC ?
By default Kaspersky is programed to download updates from Internet, hence here, all you have to do is to change the update source from Internet (Kaspersky website) to your local folder (the update folder in which the updates are downloaded).
